(Hint it was neither the republican candidates for governor in my state or POTUS)

I am long on record as saying all I have done since 2016 is vote for local things like county commission, local referendums etc

 

We should defund their abortion arm...which does get state money ...and be reasonable and smart about the rest.

 

Sounds like excuses to hide from any responsibility for your vote, or lack of vote.

Nah, I'm good giving neither side my support with my valuable right to do with my one vote exactly as I feel convicted.

Both sides are power hungry and lacking any real principles. BOTH side wage culture wars and live to simply own the other.

So use your vote as you see fit. I support it wholeheartedly. But understand I will do the same with mine. Sometimes that means not using it at all.

 

Maybe it's just me but considering that one of the more effective ways of reducing abortions is to provide access to contraception defund an organization that promotes contraception does seem logical if one is supposedly prolife. Similarly defunding cancer screenings and other medical care primarily for women doesn't exactly strike me as being "prolife".

 

I've often heard the argument (but haven't done a deep dive) that because money is fungible, funding any non-abortive aspects or "arms" of PP has the practical effect of supporting abortion services. I'm sure that's a concern for some. Of course, there are folks who oppose contraception generally and/or oppose specific drugs which they consider abortifacients.

If you support conservative ideas you don’t get to hide behind - oh but I didn’t vote in state or federal. I agree about contraceptives and think PP should get funding for all the services excluding abortion.

My wife and I adopted two children. We had to lie on our application to say we were good Christian’s. That states use faith based organizations to handle this does not mean it is in fact true.

 

All these disagree clicks and no one can disprove it. I used to work with World Vision (the largest child aid organization in the world). I was privy to data that told us where the money came from.

If christians/conservatives etc were not pro life AFTER birth, what benefit would it be for you to claim to be Christian when doing so?

We just attended the wedding of our best friends daughter. They adopted her at age 6.

My sister adopted two minority children and is raising them as a single mom.

Another close family friends of ours adopted 4.

We probably have 15-20 adopted kids in our close circle. It's an amazing calling.

 

Seems obvious to me. If the state simply wants to defund abortion, then defund abortion. If the feds are able to do it with Hyde, the state should be able to figure out a way to do it with Medicaid. But don't defund all the other 97 percent of services that PP provides. What's the point of that?
