Looks like we will have more out of conference losses this coming year going into SEC play that is one tough schedule
Totally get it. But we beat Auburn and all other things were basically equal and Duke played in the ACC. We were 4-0 vs the ACC. I just hated the way that we were generally not even in the same discussion.
Mike White has nightmares about his team potentially being listed as “safely in” a couple weeks out from Selection Sunday. “How could I get us out of this? Maybe a home loss to LSU?”
Im not saying it would necessarily be a bad season, but it would virtually certainly be a disappointment compared to our sky high expectations. The first outcome that would make us miss Tampa is not earning a top 4 seed. This team finishing with a 5 seed or lower would have to be a disappointment. The second would be having two teams with a geographic preference for Tampa get seeded ahead of us. This is unlikely given the geography of the state. The teams in close proximity include Miami, FSU, Georgia, and Georgia Tech. Finishing behind teams in that group would be a disappointment. It’s possible a couple teams from outside of the immediate region would get sent down there. However, other big title favorites, Houston, Purdue, Duke, UConn, all have more proximal host sites available. Auburn and Bama could come take a slot or two, but even there, both are closer to Greenville and Bama is also closer to St Louis. I am sure it is possible, but it is difficult for me to imagine a realistic scenario where we miss Tampa and still feel good about the regular season.
we started 13-0 against a relatively weak non conference schedule so even a loss or two against much tougher opposition wouldn't hurt us as we enter SEC play with a much more favorable home schedule
He had Florida #1 overall in his way too early bracket after the first championship and after the 04s announced their return But that was probably everyone else in the world as well
Back in the day, what did him getting the field correct do for you? You still didn't actually know the field until it was released and if the seeding was all screwed up, how did it help you at all? I would sure take the check, I just wouldn't seek it, and I definitely wouldn't cut one. I see almost no use for this stuff. They don't actually predict the future. All their guessing does little to nothing for me.
"No one would question the significant personnel losses incurred by defending NCAA champion Florida. Replacing a backcourt of Walter Clayton Jr., Will Richard and Alijah Martin is no easy task: The trio combined for better than 46 points per game, and Clayton made numerous clutch shots in the Gators' title-winning season. ESPN 100 freshmen Alexander Lloyd and Cornelius Ingram Jr. will help fill the void, but it's two stellar transfer portal additions -- Xaivian Lee (Princeton) and the surprising entry Boogie Fland (Arkansas) -- who make the Gators a legitimate threat to repeat. Add returning big man Alex Condon to an already loaded frontcourt, and it's no wonder Florida jumps up to the top line. This team has all the pieces to make a Final Four return and win the title again. The Gators won't be overwhelming favorites like Billy Donovan's repeat champions in 2007, but the 2026 Gators will be in the mix next March."
U gave me a come on man because someone said our record will be 40-0. I said please don’t make tees like Kentucky did . You are probably to young to remember
Everyone that “handles” the ball is new. I’m going into this season to enjoy the show. On paper we should be pretty good but I don’t expect us to win it all. Just like I didn’t last year. It was fun watching it happen though
