Can anyone briefly summarize what the hell is happening with Iran and Israel? Thread is a bit murky and news seems sparse…or is it just me? Thanks!!

Chabad is the fastest growing segment of the Jewish religion, opening up a new Chanad learning center on average every 10 days. When a rabbi advocates killing innocent women and children it should be condemned. According to a Pew Research poll I saw in March 2024, 62% of American Jews approvr of how Israel is handling the situation in Gaza. Seems like the percentage among Jews in Israel might have been higher. As for how Netanyahu is conducting operations in Gaza, i.e. the dehumanization, starvation and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, the parallels with what happened in Germany are obvious. The true sin is to say nothing as tens of thousands are executed and starve..

Gaddafi gave up his nuclear ambitions and got stuck with a bayonet in an unfortunate place. So it's understandable that Iran would want nukes and never give them up. Nonetheless this is a fair comment:
Hypocrisy? Ukraine gave up not a nuclear program, but an actual nuclear arsenal, in exchange for guarantees of peace from Russia. Yet, you openly cheer for Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. That sure comes across as hypocrisy.
This is one aspect that really bothers me. There is no good answer I've yet heard as to why Iran was struck while negotiations were ongoing and just days before a significant session was scheduled. If President Trump didn't know about it (which he has now claimed he did -- fully briefed) that's one huge problem. If he did know about it which, again, he claims he was fully briefed, he owns part of the sneak attack and nobody will ever trust him or his administration in negotiations again.
There’s multiple reports that Iran all reached the level it needed to reach, complete enrichment was imminent. Trump gave Iran a strict timeline —60 days— to reach a deal. Israel attacked in the 61st day, a fact Trump broadly boasted. Regardless, Iran’s program reached the point where Israel could not wait any more to protect itself against the inevitability of Iran achieving nuclear power.
The United States dragged Ukraine into a war with Russia. Russia's 3 red lines were violated. Ukraine attacked ethnic Russians in violation of the Minsk accords. The US should never have removed the democratically elected Ukrainian president in 2014. And the US and NATO should never have schemed to start a proxy war to split Russia into several different countries. Most Ukrainians don't care much about Eastern Ukraine anyway. It was part of Russia until the early 1920's
There is a good answer. The negotiation scheduled for the Sunday before the strikes was a ruse to lull Iran into a false sense there would not he a strike. This has been admitted in open source reporting. Trump admitted that he was involved in the ruse.

That is a fact. The Iron Dome is designed take out rockets and mortars. For ballistic missiles, you need to use Patriots or THAAD. They are not integrated into Iron Dome. Of course, if I was a retired colonel, ostensibly with a War College degree, who posted publicly about matters like these and expected other people to quote me as an expert, then I would understand basic facts like that. Edit: Apparently, even though it is not designed to take out ballistic missiles, it has taken out some of the ones that have gotten by the other systems. The Israelis are using it as kind of a close-in weapons system of last resort.
Reporting in Israel was that missiles were taking a couple minutes less time to arrive than before and causing more damage so sounds like they’re using different missiles yesterday
