LA Dodgers and LA Police Refuse to Allow ICE Onto Grounds

Are all states now entitled to ignore the federal laws they don’t like and obstruct federal law enforcement officers?

 

What happens when “law enforcement officers” themselves don’t follow the rules? I mean surely they need a warrant or to be after someone specific rather than creating a scene at a sports venue. But if they were after someone they thought would be at the game, why would ANY business be amenable to these sort of gestapo like tactics with unidentified agents acting extralegally?

Why would they even be showing up at a baseball stadium? I wonder if it’s coincidence that this happens a couple days after the woman sang the National Anthem in Spanish? I suspect not.

 

Redirect that carrier battle group immediately if not sooner!

 

The issue is that the feds aren't really following the laws. For example, they are providing administrative warrants to search private property for people that they claim are illegal immigrants. Those warrants do not give them the right to do this (which is why the private property can deny them entry). They would need a judicial warrant to do this.

In addition, they are not identifying themselves with proper documentation.

The article notes that DHS posted on X that CBP was there "unrelated to any operation or enforcement." If that's true, I can't imagine how this would amount to obstruction. Having said that, the article title named ICE. Aren't they different agencies under DHS? I am wondering if perhaps there are two different things being discussed.

 

We should send everyone in the Dodgers organization to jail for possibly harboring illegals, stat, if not quicker....

If it’s true that a federal law enforcement agency is acting without warrants, not displaying badges, etc, then that’s one thing. And I would say there would be a great case indeed to make that said federal agency was acting in violation of the law. And by case, I mean a case to be made in front of a judge, not on GC, and not in the media. In here, people can make whatever unsubstantiated accusations they want without ever having to back them up with real evidence. A judge is actually going to ask for the warrant and such.

 

It’s not a terrible idea. If he did this at US-Mexico soccer games, it would a US home game again. Shrug.

It’s private property. No warrant means they can tell them to get the Fudge out….

 

Seems like they wanted to use the parking lot as a staging area to conduct raids around the city, not necessarily raid the ball park… didn’t ask permission, just assumed it would be okay with everyone. But it’s private property so they had no right to do that….

 

It is pretty telling that we are to the point where in certain places - the broad population, including businesses, does not want certain law enforcement arms there at all.

 

I think they are unfortunately in many cases NOT following the law.

 

That makes much more sense than them attempting an immigration raid inside the ballpark, which obviously would be crazy. But supposedly one of the things that sparked the riots was some agents tossed flashbangs into a restaurant, so one can never discount “crazy” these days.

 

And as I said, if they didn’t have a warrant, as far as I’m concerned they were not enforcing federal law. If that’s really true, and not just a narrative, then I’m not certain why this story is newsworthy. And I’m dead certain it’s not threadworthy.
