Lol, "performative politics" is better than Performative Propaganda invented by the desperate, intractable Leftists trying to get arrested as a "badge or honor" of sorts... in their own minds. The Leftists are DESPERATE FOR ATTENTION, while Trump is simply America First. I see nothing wrong with the new flags, only a communist hater would disapprove of these additions to the WH lawn.

Come here to buy a lightly used pre-owned vehicle for a terrific deal?

If Trump paid for the White House to be painted black, would that bother you?

To me, this is a matter of taste. I think draping the White House with large American flags is too “loud.”

I like that the White House belongs to the citizens, and it’s architecture and outward appearance is understated. I don’t think the White House was designed to be ostentatious like it’s European counterparts.

Trump, on the other hand, has made his name and fortune living loudly and ostentatiously.

It’s all a matter of style, I suppose.

To some people "style" means that they like whatever Donald J. Trump likes. This extends past decorative or home aesthetics, and even extends into policy ideas.

For example, if Donald J. Trump says that all illegal immigrants should be deported, then that's it - If they're illegal, then they have to go! But if he says we need to keep the ones working on farms or in hospitality ...... well, then those ones should stay.

It's the same with starting new wars and foreign interventionism. This is a very bad thing- unless Donald Trump says otherwise!

So you see, the flagpoles are very similar. Donald J. Trump likes them, therefore so should we. I know I do!

It's not that big of a deal. But some poster felt the need to start a thread about to praise Trump and to troll libs. As for paying for it, why didn't Trump pay for his birthday parade too? That cost the country tens of millions. These flag poles might've cost Trump 20 or 30 thousand.

Interesting thread. The question asked “why the flag polls” can only be answered by understanding who Trump is as a person, and his motivation behind it. To Trump supporters it shows his strength and patriotism. To Trump opponents it’s an unnecessary performance to deflect from recent events that made him look weak, and/or compensate if you know what I mean. So why the flag polls. Well why not the flag polls? It’s all in the eye of the beholder, and wasting energy on the pros and cons does absolutely nothing to move our country forward.

My opinion is if Trump wants to install a couple of big flag polls then who cares? Let him.

We're posting on a message board. Wasting time and energy is sort of our mission statement. I assume you have constructive suggestions as to how our time might be better spent "moving our country forward."
