I’m going to go back to Gage Wood’s no hitter for a minute. Everybody knows his line 9 IP/0 H/ 0 R/ 0 BB/ 19 K—incredible!

But the line of his in this game that really gets my attention—
119 total pitches/ 83 strikes—let that sink in…

 

Not to derail the thread but I always thought this was a factor in Barry bonds performance at the plate. He wore so much body armor he could crowd the plate and swing with total confidence. Still have to make contact but...

 

The Cards will have to beat Coastal TWICE in order to advance.

This is the Coastal that has a 25 game winning streak.......

 

This just ain’t right any way you cut it—to have to listen to Edwardo Perez in the broadcast booth for three games in two days is crazy wrong!

Maybe Big Ben could mute his mike…

Fantastic catch by their left fielder to get that last out too. Did you see the expression on the Cards batter....lol.....he was like "Man that ain't right!"

BTW, I would love to see CC face LSU in the finals.

Coastal Carolina is on fire. Pitching and hitting.

 

For about 2 months now.. or just really good..or both. Kind of glad they will have to go through sec to cap it off.. Legitimizes it more

 

And of the 83 strikes I bet damn few were over the middle if any.

Just guessing because I didn't see the game but I am guessing that is true.

Unless he is a youthful Roger Clemens. He could throw it past guys down the middle if he set them up first. And sometimes didn't need to set them up.

 

They are legit.

That Coastal runner didn't read Charlie Hustle's book, apparently. Nevertheless....fantastic play by the Cards outfielder & 3rd baseman!

 

Wood really held his velocity extremely well. 1st inning FB was 98—9th inning FB was 98. Located it high in the zone well all game. Also pitched in very well.

He threw the knuckle curve and it had great bite on it all game.
It really kept them off his FB.

 

Cool, beautiful state, maybe just me and; I'm not a UCLA fan, but id root for UCLA over most of the sec teams, esp Vols, Bama, LSU ,ga, Okla,, Texas, etc . Doesn't matter now tho.

Ive only watched a few innings and don't think that will change but no way I'm rooting for coastal vs anybody the way their coach acted in the regional.

Secondly, it just wouldn't seem right to me if coastal made 2 trips to Omaha and won both times. That's like buying 2 lottery tickets and winning the lottery both times. Crazy. That would really upset the Noles, hogs, etc tho, so that's a positive.
