Yeah. Sam Alexis leaving was bigger than people seem to realize. It should also be noted that Henshall is a gamble if the rumors are true. It seems like - according to both TT and UF insiders - that there are some academic issues which will take quite a bit of work preseason to make him eligible and there are no guarantees he will be. And serviceable - but not good 3 point numbers and rebounds. So not much future in filling Condon's role after he leaves either. And there are only 4 power forwards still listed on 24/7 at all. So not much pickings- Im sure there might also be a listed 3 or 5 capable to filling it too but still not much. And TG apparently already has eyes on Flores - and if he does that means TG likes what he saw. And I trust TG's scouting.
It’s a good visualization, and I do think it would be nice to have Alexis. Still, the image leaves out versatility. Eg Clearly, Haugh can play the 4. As long as someone from the Brown bros / Ingram combo can handle minutes at the 3, we’re probably looking good. But lots to figure out over the summer.
A lot of talent in Gainseville this year. CTG and his aides will be working hard to get all the pieces into a tough team and play team ball. Whatever happens, we will have some ups and downs trying to come together. The exciting part to me watching it happen, good or bad. Our opponents will be out to bring us down, but as last year showed, we had grit. When someone says we were lucky to win the tournament, I just laugh and tell them to talk to our bigs up close and personable. Our guards will need to bring toughness every night this year. To repeat, everything will have to fall in line. I am excited to see where we go! Again a tough out for any team gunning for us./
I'd take Ben Henshall even if UF has to wait longer for him to become academically qualified. I'd much rather have an NBA caliber talent than just about anybody else left available. UF is as loaded as it needs to be to make a run at back-to-back national championships. Insofar as getting everybody's best shot, it seems to me that is the case in every game the Gators play. You can bet UK is looking excitedly about returning to play UF twice a year.
I agree. Also don't want to see him playing for anyone else that's in the running. Hopefully Alex can convince him to join him!
There are now 15 scholarships per team for the power conference schools and for any other schools that opt into the settlement.

Um, what is the "scholarship" thing you are referencing? Employees with a room and board benefit? When you make 6 figures (or more), is this really an issue? I guess your choice of nutrition may have some nefarious ingredients and perhaps the living place security may allow some less-than-ideal folks (women?) who are more "me-first" than assisting, but still, aren't we continuing to believe in the tooth fairy?
Sorry, but I don’t understand what you are saying. Under the House v NCAA settlement, college basketball teams will have a roster limit of 15, and all of the players can be given scholarships. Thst is a change from the prior 13-scholarship limit. In addition, current walk-on players are grandfathered in and can stay on their current teams or transfer elsewhere without counting against the roster limit.
It certainly is true that you have to have a degree of luck to win a national championship. For sure, Sharpe could have thrown up a rainbow three over a soaring Clayton which could have changed the entire outcome. But he didn’t!!!
So what you are implying, if there are players - or "persons" - who are in a uniform and are sitting in and around the coaches on a game sideline are considered a player that counts up to, but can not exceed, 15 total. Is this correct? How about persons who are not in a uniform during a game situation but are found in a somewhat uniform in a sort of organized activity during the non-game or non-season times? Are they "invested fans" as if they are Green Bay Packer fans during training camp? Or do they sort of act like analysts with more moving parts? Does that mean they can run and exercise with the team but they aren't really a part of it? Kind of like the "analysts" position versus the on-field coaches? There are no limits to analysts who can run and exercise and...correct? If I haven't confused you more, are you implying that the nonsense up to the pre-settlement has been put to rest and the so-called "Wild, Wild West" is now 1880 St. Louis? Are you sure? If I may opine (and yes, this is strictly an opinion), nothing has changed except for maybe programs run by rubes and some fans who want "change", especially change that seems to have a semblance to "the good old days". You know, when the O-a-D concept ran major college basketball. Yeah, I miss those days also. I will believe it when I see it, and that means harsh penalties - whatever that means in this era - for violations and non-conformities. I don't enjoy any of this, but I am sober and not biased. Just jaded. VERY jaded.
The Gators currently have 12 scholarship players for next season. If 3 future NBA players would like to join the team, Golden can give scholarships to all of them. In the past, Golden could only have given one of them a scholarship. I know this is confusing.
It is outright stated, not implied. Scholarship limits have been raised to 15. Any walkons on the roster when the rule changed are allowed to stay on the roster until they’ve graduated. After that, there’s a hard cap of 15 players on the roster. All 15 players are allowed to receive scholarships, but not required to. I don’t know what the point of your word salad is.
