Yep, more theatre from the reality TV guy. . Ironically, maga and especially the hated media probably loves it. More viewers for TV and more distraction from tariffs, Russia, Ukraine, Budget Buster Bill, etc etc etc.

 

So states can now just ignore federal law?

The whole sanctuary city thing is just BS and theater FEDs have ignored it for years.

Alabama tried that in the 60’s and it didn’t go so well did it.

As I recall some states (Texas) tried to enforce border security and the left screamed that wasn’t their job and it was a Federal jurisdiction.
The other side of the coin and it’s only okay if the State agrees?

 

We just want elected officials to work together rather than ideological arseholes playing to their side.

So what problem is being solved if CA doesn’t view it as a problem? How does it affect the rest of the United States such that we need to go in against CA wishes and engage via force?

Right or wrong these sanctuary cities have been around forever. All of a sudden going in and doing military raids seems kind of pointless. Again, what problem are you solving?

Setting the above aside, how is the national guard and marines helping? They are diverting resources away from the LAPD in terms of depleting their workforce and as well as focus as now the LAPD has to go defend the national guard.

Well damn...we should damn sure round up all those Jan 6th "protesters" and give em the business too....blanket pardon for every damn one of those protesters without regard to any crime they committed (on high quality video for damn sake). When someone wants to discuss why we had cop beaters and people crapping on the senate floor, convicted by jurors per the justice system like it or not and chasing down the vice president and senators yelling to kill them get blanket pardoned. Really start your discussion with a guy so corrupt and so damn lazy he couldnt have someone let him know which one of these really shitty human beings was caught on video assaulting police officers, destroying the Senate or threatening a our representatives lives. Those people were in custody, tried, convicted by their peers and sentenced for the crimes they committed...they should have served full sentence period and anyone looking the other way instead of speaking up is cut from the same cloth. No character and no backbone.

 

I think we should draw a distinction between Federal preemption and the anti-commandeering doctrine, among some other things - such as protecting and enforcing individual, Constitutional liberties. The vast majority of states legalized recreational or medical marijuana while it was (and remains) illegal under Federal law.

The guard wouldn’t have been sent in if the lawless criminal elements had not started attacking police and destroying pinkie and private property.

You’re right if they were tried and convicted they should sit in jail until their sentence is up.

 

The goings on in LA were well within the police control. Not even close. There were instances during GF protests where things went too far such as Oregon. But as much as I disagree with OR letting it get that far, I think it is up to the citizens of that state to make their own decisions regarding that.
