The women finish 3rd and the men finished 12th.

The women’s team was hurt by a lack of depth in several events, the absence of competitors in several events, no 4x4 team, and the overall depth of the other top SEC teams.

They have several highly ranked recruits coming next year that will hopefully address some of those concerns. (The SEC is always going to be strong)

The women’s team still has enough top talent to contend for a top 5 spot at the NCAA’s this year, the men don’t seem to be as strong. (The men do also have a very strong recruiting class, as does Georgia and some others) injuries have hurt a great deal… even with those who have managed to return.

That said, Track and Field at the NCAA’s championship level is hard to predict, injuries and poor performances can happen at unforeseen times and no one is immune.
We’ll see how it goes, but it is a down year especially on the men’s side.

Exact opposite of the men. Track did great, field has been a big disappointment. Our highest ranked shot putter didn’t make the finals, our 2nd ranked LJ’r was only able to get one legal jump out of six and finished fifth, and I just saw our 10k runner, who could have earned points, scratched. Probably borderline top 10 now based on seeds.

In a terrible year for our men, we finished 8th..we only scored in 3 events and we still finished top ten with 22 pts. That is how you do it even when you have an off year with a ton of injuries. I was told a few minutes ago to watch what Mouse does this summer.

Yeah top 10 is pretty crazy. Two massive overperformances saved the day.
But are we watching in terms of team makeup or is he considering retiring? He’s starting to get close age wise I would think it’s possible, especially with the NIL silliness. Would be a massive loss if he does.

It is like they unlocked her speed(Charloton) and she couid not harness it in the jumps, watching it she was just a tad off and they were some huge jumps if she could have gotten one to be legal. She was very safe on her jump that counted.
Yeah our shot putter who was over 60 ft just could not get it right, and the other one still is not in top shape yet to really do damage. Like they said on the coverage our coaches hadnt seen injuries bunch up on both sides like this before. Heck the 10k runner was injured doing light training before the meet.

That is a bit cryptic, Coach Holloway is in his mid 60’s, but Pat Henry is almost 75 and his team just won the men’s title.
Eighth with the adversity this team faced is remarkable. To a certain extent, though, it is indicative of Coach Holloway’s mindset… he builds his teams to compete for national championships, he will take conference championships but the national level is where his teams excel.

Looks a little cryptic for sure, sounded a bit over the phone also.

I'm thinking an overhaul rather than retirement.
