Surprising how many protests are happening across Florida “No Kings" protests are planned across Florida on June 14th, coinciding with President Trump's 79th birthday and the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary.” 'No Kings' in Florida: Why people are protesting, 75 protests planned
I like the idea but executive overreach has been going on for a long long time. One it’s time for the legislative branch to grow a pair and two that citizens look for a president who has a tendency to resist executive overreach and even makes it part of their platform. It’s a fantasy I know. The question to ask is do you want the president you DONT like to have the same power?
I don’t like the idea of protesting the Army. There is nothing wrong with cheering for our military men and woman. Ignore Trump and his ego. Don’t let him make pawns of our military men and woman.
Nice messaging. Florida sheriff warns protesters ahead of nationwide rallies: ‘We will kill you dead’ A Florida sheriff issued a stark message to protesters planning to demonstrate this weekend against increasing ICE arrests nationwide. Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey warned in a press conference Thursday that if any protesters “throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun,” they will be killed. “If you spit on us, you’re going to the hospital and then jail,” he continued. “If you hit one of us, you’re going to the hospital and jail, and most likely get bitten by one of our big, beautiful dogs we have here. “If you throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains, because we will kill you, graveyard dead.
It will be interesting to see to what degree this turns out to be a peaceful protest and to what degree it turns out to be an ANTIFA style mob. The mobs seem to show up in Democrat stronghold areas where it is understood violence will be tolerated with no response from the police or the sheriff. They don’t show up as much when the sheriff and police make it clear that they have teeth and are willing to use them.
LOL talk about either good planning or poor planning I was curious to see my city on the list so I clicked to see where locally they were going to be protesting. The link said 436 and Howell Branch Rd and even mentioned next to Harbor freight. Funny thing I was at Harbor Freight this afternoon to pick up a tool I needed and half the parking lot is a fireworks for sale tent......Talk about asking for trouble.
There is literally no celebration of the United States Army. If anything, this is a total mockery of the United States Army as the "wannabe King" sits atop his castle and demands his minions pay him homage. The very same soldiers he has called "losers" and "suckers" are being ordered to parade around in front of him as he celebrates his birthday.
I dunno, man. If I were one to attend one of these things, I'd be worried that I may become a casualty because bullets are flying because of bricks. It kinda takes the air out of the 1st Amendment. Don't get me wrong, people that are looting and whatnot are dirtbags, but I don't want to be collateral damage because of it. Earlier, I saw our local PD's post about the one planned for here. The very first thing they led with is that the department fully supports everyone's right to free speech. It got the point across thought saying "We will do a police brutality on you and then we'll let the dog take a turn."
There is very very thin evidence to substantiate that claim. It is a claim that has about the same level of evidence that "so-and-so is a silent commit," which is some super secret source told me so. Then the supposed statement is denied by the person who reportedly said it. Just like in recruiting people will believe what they want to believe, and anonymous sources are often BS.
The 1st amendment does not protect people's rights to throw bricks and loot. That is mob violence. I agree with you, though. I would not be near one of these events for the same reason due to the risk of a peaceful protest turning into a violent mob because of some trashy people who might be there.
A pathetic use of the army under the guise marking of 250 years when we all know it is self avagrandizement for dear leader.
Planning on having one in our town, and this will be the third of fourth this year. They have all been peaceful and have attracted >3.5% of our town's population, which is considered the minimum turnout to be effective. Nonviolence and turnout invariably effect change, from what Harvard's Erica Chenowith's research on the topic reveals. So get out there, peacefully protest that we do not want a dictator in a democratic and free country.
If you want to know how Valdosta feels about police and their reaction to violent mobs visit this 33 page thread. I would venture to say at least 1/2 of the anti police posts are from him. Police Coverups, Conspiracies, and Cost to Taxpayers I will pretty much guarantee you when he says "the people who are looting and whatnot are dirtbags" he feels the police are bigger dirtbags.
thank goodness that sheriff wasn’t in charge of capital police on Jan 6th or there would have been many dozens of violent rioters killed or “trashy people”.
When the top three counties that conduct military parades are North Korea, China, and Russia; that isn’t company I want to keep as an American. The fact that June 14th is the president’s birthday and very minor significance to our history; shows his egotistical actions. He is wasting millions of our money for his birthday party.
So, this is the classic conundrum with ultimatums. Rational people are scared by this. But irrational people kill people (largely.) This is just a challenge to people who ain’t afraid of being “graveyard dead.” It’s an idiotic strategy designed for TV.
At least he isn’t paying for hotel rooms and relocation flights for millions of illegals. What would you estimate that price tag to be? FEMA two years ago mysteriously had an additional $500 million in a fund specifically for that use which normally only had $150 million so that year the fund was $650 million. All spent. As you know, the total cost of that treason was much more, that’s just an example of how much they allocated in advance. Wanna cherry pick a few million, have at it. Besides, looks like the military might be needed in DC this week.
