Just to be fair, Brady (guy who runs the SA transfer predictions did say the % is solely based on Geography to a players hometown, it does not indicate who the front runner is in the players decision) But, it is a good indication that we are now in the conversation
She said she had made best friends for life, and that some of these girls would be in her wedding. She didnt say "one day" but she also didnt say soon. I remarked to a friend at the time that I figured the boards would be going crazy with speculation about an engagement, but it didnt seem to happen, which surprised me, considering who they are, especially DJ.
I heard that as well, but didn't take it as they were getting married any time soon..just that she is close to team members that she will want as bridesmaids when she gets married in the future..just a general statement to show how close she is to girls she plays softball with.
The original intent of the NIL stuff was to help the student athlete get through their normal daily lifestyles. I don't think the original intent of the NIL was to use it to raid the rosters of other college teams. So when comments are made about Texas Tech trying to buy a championship then in their particular case I can't discount comments like that because their certainly some truth in it. And just because you can do it because the NCAA is a toothless organization nowadays, it does not make it right in the framework of the overall health of college sports. You have a softball program which basically did nothing and all of sudden is showing up in the final game of the WCWC then people will make note of that. I call it karma they choked away their opportunity to win it by losing that first game. You will also note that some of these portal transfers coming into Texas Tech are from colleges who were in the WCWC. To quote Gibbs - There is no such thing as coincidences. I don't doubt of the real possibility Tech has been involved with tampering with various players during the course of a season and/or post season. I take the portal stuff on a case by case basis. The good or bad or any portal stuff will always be a function of how each individual chooses to use it. When the portal stuff becomes a pure $$$$$ money grab then I don't doubt issues can come up later. I would like to think the concepts of buying a college team can be a very tricky thing because you don't know how locker room chemistry will play out in the end particularly if you start losing and/or you start shifting playing time for players because when said high paid players are not producing and they are still playing then that will affect your role players wondering why I can't get into the games when I know I can do better. I think the base of any baseball or softball roster should be kids coming out of high school. If you need the portal to help complete the roster then you judge on a case by case basis. If you see college teams doing a ton of shifting then you just wonder about stuff like that.
I will back up Rick about Ava and DJ unless her mom lied to the entire group of 200 people at the senior day party when she said Ava has already picked her brides maids from the SB team. Sounds pretty convincing to me! Plus DJ gave $1 Mil to women's athletics. Doubt that he does that if they are just "friends". I know when DJ sat at some games with Scrappy, Sandman and I he was a super nice young man and actually enjoyed the games. I like the idea of 1 boy and 1 girl (Minimum) to cover the sports!!!
I dont think anybody suggested they were just "friends"? Everybody knows they've been dating for ages!
That adds to what I took from what she said. Obviously marriage is on the table. I didn't say, and she didn't say, if a date was set or not. I still think she said something about getting a wedding dress but perhaps I'm confusing that with the bridesmaids comment. Anyway, a topic I didn't expect us to be covering here.
It is the silly season. Long time until the ball is pitched again in a meaningful game. And it involves probably the most popular athlete on campus now that Walter Clayton is gone.
lol, Women begin dreaming about their weddings and all the details including bridesmaids, flowers, locations decor, cake and dresses when they are about 6.
We do? Didn't give mine a single thought until we decided to do it. Maybe if I had been planning it for so long I would have won the heeled shoes over trainers under the dress argument with my mother
Sorry, for the Brits among us, it’s 13 Apparently 13 Is The Average Age Most Women Start Planning Their Wedding
lol....look what I started. And there is a reason you won't ever hear this discussion on a football board or from a football reporter. They don't give a rat's patootie if DJ marries Ava, a nun or his center (who he has an obvious close relationship with on certain plays). They only care about if he stays healthy and can hit a long bomb in the next game. We, here, are much more refined.
