I’ve never heard a serious argument for “Biden started the Russia-Ukraine War” either. You might say Biden “failed to deter” Russia, but then again you might say Trump “failed to deter” Iran from ending its nuclear weapons program or Israel from striking Iran as a consequence. A failure of deterrence, while not good, is still not the same thing as initiative.
You’re being honest and thoughtful taipan. Those posts were meant to satirize the popular hyper partisan attitude that basically everything bad that happens in the universe while the other party is in the White House is the fault of the president.

We obviously knew this was coming. Having those planes prepositioned allow us to look at who ever is now in charge in Iran and say “You better ensure your response is proportional and does not include targeting any Americans or our interests. If you ignore that, we have the capability to make last night look like a pin prick.”
It also might suggest that the stories about Israel not having the munitions to destroy the enrichment facilities in QOM, where Iran moved most of its most effective centrifuges, is true. As of this morning, Israel has slowed down, but not eliminated Iran's enrichment capability. Some believe that only the US heavy bombers can carry the bombs necessary to destroy the QOM facility, which is further beneath the earth and better protected than Natanz is.

Failed to deter Israel, as did Biden. The tail has been waging the dog for some time in this relationship. They couldnt even get Israel to not bomb them while we were trying to negotiate with them.
You have to assume that Iranian airspace is almost undefended at this point. Their Air Defense systems apparently were not that active last night and I have not seen anything about Israeli jets shooting down Iranian fighters.
