Aren't you trying to make excuses for the detail when the evidence is plainly that they fucked up and did not do what would have been expected in previous, law-abiding, administrations who didn't feel the need to proactively fire their IGs because they weren't intending to break laws and avoid having investigations?

If Noem tried to do that the previous DHS Secretary under the same circumstances, the same thing would have happened.

Listen, I’ve spent 20 years in the military and federal government doing this stuff. I’ve worked in CAG’s with Protocol staff, working with PSD teams, and know how these things actually work. If you don’t want to believe me fine. But I get a little upset when someone questions my loyalty to this country that I have spent my life defending across both R and D Presidential Administrations and put my life on the line more than once in a combat zone.

Not questioning your loyalty, I'm questioning your assessment.

Personally, I never thought I'd see the day when our military was silent in the face of a wannabe dictator, but it is.

Trump learned from his first time around and dismantled effective resistance without a shot this time and installed puppets.

I guess, in the end, Trump destroys everyone's reputation - so why should the military be any different?

After all it is an all-volunteer force these days - no one is forced to do it.

Many earn paychecks, benefits and great retirements, unlike most other jobs these days, without ever serving in a war zone, let alone taking enemy fire.

According to Trump who doesn't understand the concept of service to others, only a sucker would do it anyway.

So yes - it is a shame the damage one man can do to our country, and especially our military, but the display at Bragg the other day for what many consider an elite formation was disgraceful for a military that prided itself on being non-politicized. Even the Army agrees:

Soldiers screened for appearance and politics ahead of Trump visit

Now it's just a part of another partisan football game where everyone loses...

Now we get to see our men and women in uniform do what the Russians and North Koreans do in their military parades for their dictators.

I guess even olive drab can eventually lose its shine... especially when it deploys unnecessarily to US cities for partisan purposes like parades and protests.

He did not immediately ID himself but he did eventually ID himself, but the way he was dressed and when he was being grabbed I saw no ID badge - as soon as he ID'ed himself they should have stopped the tough stuff and just asked him to leave - imnsho it was a planned stunt by Padilla and not the proper way to handle his "question"

Pretty much everything you wrote was inaccurate. After mere months the morale in the military is sky high compared to Biden regime. So no, they aren’t concerned with Trump.

The irony missed by our self proclaimed intellectuals on the left is they fail to see how rediculous this comes across to those they are trying to get to side with them. We are told the fires and riots and violence AREN’T real. And then told this guys intentions were genuine and not completely scripted/phony. Meanwhile the antics are met with eye rolls from battleground state voters and the left becomes more incredulous that people think they have gone nuts and anyone that’s doesn’t agree with them is immediately branded a racist fascist sexist.

I don't know if you are up on current events, but the Secret Service has been bleeding mid-career agents for a long time.

There are people who are now routinely put in positions who would not have been in those positions without the necessary relevant experience in past years and it is showing.

It does not help that the size of Trump's family with his 3 baby momma's kids, including the adult ones with families, and the frequency of his narcissistic self-love routines in large crowds that are also straining an already depleted Secret Service.

yes we can agree the Butler rally put on display the woeful inadequacies of the USSS. Takes longer than 4 months to flush the old and train new.

The violence, fires and riots are real, just not very widespread, not requiring federal intervention, and most importantly were caused, on purpose, by the President and his administration.

Apparently he TACOed again and now feels that illegal immigrants are NOW vital to the economy after basically stopping people on the street, who may or might not be here illegally, without probable cause to harass them to garner support from his flagging and fickle base who never go within 100 miles of a major city anyway.

In other words, he scared his base as he typically does, so they will follow him lockstep. The rest of us "self proclaimed intellectuals" can see right through the manufactured "crises" and "national emergencies" that Trump is using more and more frequently.

It is intended to keep his intellectually challenged supporters in constant fear so he can manipulate them, nothing more.
