It has never happened to me either. I use Brave on my desktop and Safari on my iPhone and iPad with adBlock and a couple others. It sounds like an unscrupulous advertiser is sneaking redirects to malware in among the ads. I've watched sting videos and know financial scams can be very lucrative so can see why some would "advertise" to try tricking people. It starts with an infected site and then gives a phone number (that's a Google number which rings in India or Pakistan usually) and they can fix it for you in a minute or two by simply allowing access to your device. NEVER allow anyone to connect with your device remotely unless you know and trust them. Sorry this doesn't solve it but OklahomaGator has done everything he can do.
I know a fishing site I frequent had to shut down due to web crawlers and redirects attacking site. Back up with I’m no robot login, no non log in viewing and a few others. AI probably can defeat it all in a nano second. Fishing attacks, ironic, no. Hopefully no record catches.
If I was a paying customer I would be demanding a refund. GC has become unusable. Just happened to me 5 times inside 10 minutes. GC is infected as all get out.
I have not personally had this issue at all, but as I have said I have reported it several times on the premium help forum as well as sent a pm to the site owner about the issue.
I've received the message below a number of times over the last several weeks. I assume it's my anti-virus/anti-malware program blocking redirects to bogus cites.
I am now getting redirected to a faux Google site where they tell me i am the 5 millionth googler and i’ve won a valuable prize. It is very frequent - about every third click (advancing a thread to a new page, opening a thread). Very frustrating. It has just about made the site unusable.
