I usually post finance-related threads but this is interesting.

Most could see the move coming although I wonder what the local democrats here think. Will it work? Will it make a difference? Democrats had trouble with independents in the 2024 elections. Aside from hating President Trump, what do they offer? Also, if they run as independents, they have ballot access issues and will have to run against a democrat that won the primary anyway.

The biggest mistake was joining a party. I golf clap this self-serving move.

Can’t wait for some of the abject maniacs to at least fake it too.

By "Blue MAGA" Khanna is referring to a strategy of appealing to working class voters. These are the policies he is supporting and believes would be attractive to those voters.
"During a stop in Los Angeles, Khanna also joined Sanders for the tour. Khanna, who co-chaired Sanders 2020 campaign, considers the Vermont senator a mentor and his congressional platform is an extension of many of Sanders’ priorities, like a higher minimum wage, Medicare for all and affordable housing.

“Bernie Sanders warned us in 2016, he warned us about the unholy alliance of wealth and power, but the Democratic leadership rejected him,” Khanna told the attendees in April."

Not exactly Trump's MAGA policies. Khanna's strategy of appealing to those voters is go left and with the way Trump is tanking the economy it could actually work.

10 senators and 20 house members could fix the whole damn mess because neither party could do anything without them.

In order to get them, chit has to pass the straight face test. Don't bring extremes of anything or the answer is no and we gridlock.

gates, buffett and a few others could agree to bankroll the moderate middle party and pick senators from swing states tired of the bullchit or run your own candidates in purple areas tired of both parties

this doesn't seem that hard to get to

If the OP thinks that former Democrats registering or identifying as Independents is good news for MAGA and Republican candidates he should think again.
Donald Trump approval rating plummets with key voter group
Donald Trump's approval rating has taken a significant hit among a critical segment of the electorate—independent voters, according to a new poll. The latest Gallup survey, conducted between May 1 and May 18 among 1,003 adults, showed that only 33 percent of independent voters approved of Trump's performance as president, down from 46 percent in January. The poll had a margin of error of ±4 percentage points.

    Why It Matters
Independent voters often decide the outcome of national elections, and Trump's record-low approval among this group signals potential trouble ahead—not just for his own political capital, but for Republicans heading into the 2026 midterms.

Independent voters were a key pillar of Trump's coalition in the 2024 election, with 46 percent backing him—up from 41 percent in 2020, when a majority (54 percent) voted Democrat. But that support appears to be eroding.
Remember a vote for a Democratic candidate based on disapproval of Trump and the MAGA Republican agenda is just as a valid as a vote for the candidate because the voters love the Democratic Party.

What, you mean people don't want to be like Joe, Kams, Schumer, Newsom? You mean they need fresh faces?

Both parties are complete garbage. Bend the knee to Trump or jump on the far left fringe bus…both parties have policies that divisive. Both have done tons of damage to this country.. and why? Because nwither cares a bit about you and me only about their power base. Even now.. the dem are refocusing not on what makes the most sense for America but on what gains them the most power. Repubs haven’t gotten there yet (and they are behind the curve on that) but as soon as Teumos rubbish done they too will have to seriously figure what their party can do for more power.
And we the people.. we are the Ali s that keep forking that mo way and power over because .. go team!!! Yeah we are winning.

Hate is a very narrow view as illustrated in that graph.
