Let see. Why would the United States (and really the rest of the world) not want Iran to have a nuclear bomb? Iran supports/funds terror and threatens to continuously extinguish Israel. They are 97% Muslim and practice Sharia Law. They make their Middle Eastern neighbors very uneasy, which is why the Abraham Accords were signed. Much of the Middle East wants peace and prosperity. Iran wants the opposite. It would be prudent not to let Iran have nuclear capabilities because they would cause death and destruction if they had the capabilities. Chaos would ensue. That is why you carry a big stick and tell the bad guys what they can and cannot do. You are not going to create instability with our allies and our country. It's called peace through strength.

If we did it your way, we would put our hands up and say Hey, we have no right to tell another country what they can or cannot do. You go right ahead and fund the terrorist groups Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. Let them bring instability to the region, which will then bring instability to the world. Just let them do what they want.

Not sure what you are asking with that first question.

I think a successful strike will result in the the facilities, that are located deep underground, collapsing on themselves. I do not believe they are going after any of the reactors.

Not one thinks the Iranian people are going to be able to overthrow the current government in the next two to three years. That means we cannot wait.

its worth it. Having the capacity means you can make dirty bombs of smaller size. In some ways more deadly than icbms. I don’t want Iran in the big boy club. It’s not about us being the good guys. It’s about self interest. Purely selfishly for me and mine I don’t want Iran to have a nuke. Period. They are not our friends and as long as they have fundamentalist beliefs they won’t be.

I dont want anyone to have nukes, its more of a matter of what we are willing to do to stop it. There are more dangerous countries than Iran with nuclear weapons, including the one I live in.

There's no logical argument for anyone to have them, but you can only apply logic when presented with alternatives, and there are plenty of worse alternatives than that. Starting a war which isnt even guaranteed to succeed at preventing that outcome seems like one of them.

ok but people do have them. So… I get it nukes suck but they exists. Pretending they don’t or dreaming they shouldn’t are irrelevant. It’s in our best interest to limit proliferation to fundamentalists that don’t like us. And maybe that’s worth going to war over. Maybe not certainly, but at least maybe.

If we, the country that has already killed thousands with nuclear weapons, would rather start a war that could kill thousands than another country have nuclear weapons, that kinda makes us the dangerous fundamentalists.

I mean … ok? Think that if you want I guess. In all of this I never tried to imply that we are the good guys. But regardless of good or bad, Iran is not our friend, funds terrorists that threaten us, and therefore we don’t want them to have a nuke. Even if we’re the baddies and they’re the good guy we don’t want them to have nukes.

A lot worse things could happen to us than completely cutting off Israel and leaving the Middle East.

Like we lose the very significant influence we have with the only state that has nuclear weapons in the Middle East, who is surrounded by neighbors that have tried to wipe them off the map multiple times since the countries founding?

Could explain US defensive missiles intended for Ukraine being diverted to the Middle East … for use against Iran’s retaliation.
