Ojo says the Florida Gators are “very high” in his recruitment By Andrew Spivey - May 19, 2025 Over the weekend, the Florida Gators hosted seven official visitors on campus, including one of the top players in the country. Offensive lineman Felix Ojo (6-6, 275, Mansfield, TX. Lake Ridge) was on campus, and he says the visit was better than even he expected. “I say the weekend was great,” Ojo said of his visit to Florida. “I mean, it exceeded my expectations. It was nice talking to the players, hanging out with the players, and not only that,t but just seeing like the whole entire program in depth.” Offensive line coaches John Decoster and Rob Sale broke down Ojo’s game with him and explained to him that he has a chance to play very early in Gainesville.
Would be fantastic to mix OJO with the two 3 star guys we signed. From what I am hearing those 3 stars are expected to go to 4 stars. As EoW just posted, looks like UF is building something special for the future offensive line!
Need to sign them. Last year's OL class was underwhelming but at the same time, that is was makes PT look positive for the guys we are recruiting this cycle.
It was low in numbers last year, but Dice was a really good pick up, and Medlock is one i expect to surprise. He has some real quickness for a big guy.
Well, we'll see. But my point is more, re OL recruiting, our rivals won't be able to credibly suggest "UF is loaded at OL, did you see their haul last year? Do you really want all that competition?"
Risky. For example, we have no OL remaining from our 2022 class. Last season we only took 3. It's normal to have 18ish on roster. So I think minimum per cycle is 4 and there is attrition. But I would take 5 here bc of last cycle was light and we have six SRs on roster. We currently have 20 on roster, will finish the season with 14. Harris is our only JR so by the time the next class is on campus, 13 if no attrition. I agree that we should not take any guys staff doesn't truly believe can play at SEC level just because we need roster numbers. Buy more online.
5 is good this year. We have had to make up for the bad previous (Mullen recruit and whoever CBN could nab late in the year for 2022). Since then CBN has gotten better recruits and better retention. We had to get portals instead of pushing up recruited guys, so we got class distribution out of whack, but we should be able to have more OL classes with 4 than 5 now. When you have to only take 2 one year and then load up with 6 the next is far from ideal. I like 5 in this class.
We have 9 on roster who are RS FR/SO. Those guys will have been in the system at least three years by 2026. That seems solid. They will not all be here but some younger guys should step up for depth. I don't see Daniel Pierre Louis on the Spring roster.
He wasn't an early enrollee. We have a lot of young guys ready to go like Lovett and Kearney and lesser so Jones, Wangoy, Westphal and Zandamela. Then we also have some veterans that can fill in like Manuel (definitely at OT) and Waites (never at OT, limited inside). We are stacked. Remember playing LSU and how Sapp and Banks had a fun time with their back up inside? I don't think we will have that problem this year.
