I don't like it, but that's just reality in the days of NIL. I think 4 of them just wanted to be regular players and saw it wasn't going to happen at UF. The other got put in a corner by her Mom. Just my opinion, of course.

 

No. Four haven't proven anything. They may or may not. Time will tell. The other may produce her first year going forward or her second. Nobody knows. Include that with her family as a cancer in the locker room and she refused to move to a new position to help the team, when she was somewhat of a liability at her old position....uh, time to find a new home. Now, there are five days left in the portal...assuming today is done. If anyone else leaves, I might change my opinion.

 

Could their scholarship not been renewed or they were not offered a full scholarship under the new agreement . Of course Mia’s deal probably she had no choice.

 

Don't forget that two of the four were Plan B acquisitions. We got nobody we wanted off our main 2025 recruiting list. None. Not one. After almost everyone else had committed somewhere, we gave two of them a chance to come onboard...sort of a desperation move in my opinion. One of them I still think might have some potential. Nevertheless, both were available after most of the country had finished recruiting. Seems to me that says something.

 

5 girls have left Texas Tech also and they were in the finals. Such is life in 2025.

 

This stuff just keeps denigrating into impossible to understand territory. I thought that in the Power 5..Power 4...how many are left?....that if given a scholarship, even a partial, it was good for four years. The percentage could be increased but never lowered. I know that was the case when my granddaughter committed to Iowa on a diving scholarship a couple years ago. I do not know, since things change day-by-day, if that remains the case.

 

A shortstop from FAU now in the portal. Rumors are somewhere other than us. We do not know what is happening. Even as Mia's mom said in her lunatic tirade, Tim has already gotten multiple players from the portal. As she said, he doesn't announce things until the portal closes. That Ella posted something on her twitter account might have been an aberration and she missed the boat on how to handle it. I don't know. But Tim's history is to remain very silent until the portal closes and things settle down.

 

That may have been the case for her scholarship, but it wasn’t required then or now. One year scholarships have been pretty common for a long time.

Mia too, which is exactly where I believed she was going. Was told it was a done deal as soon as she entered the portal, and not for pennies either.

If this is true, it is only moderately a surprise. I don't know if NIL money was a factor for Fisher and if it was, then I doubt UGA has much more than us and that isn't much. Regardless, and why it isn't a major surprise, UGA has little left as a pitching staff. They primarily used two pitchers...Roelling and Backes. Backes is gone.

 

Yep - In addition to the 2 today, the got Ohio State's All-America catcher/slugger Jazzy Burns last week. Of the 5 TT players who entered the portal this week, 4 of them were freshmen who didn't play much this year. The other, INF Reagan Jennings, was a sophomore who was their primary pinch hitter and sometime DP who hit .398 this year and will be a solid addition to somebody's roster. Texas Tech is definitely upgrading their roster.

 

Mia to Tech has been a done deal. Terry as well. According to many Pannell from TN is expected to portal this week to Tech also. The deal is for Mia to play ss. I'd be fine with their freshmen ss leaving and coming here.
Rumor has it at UCLA they were very unhappy with pitching coaching but regardless the tampering was happening. Fisher is different than Terry I belive. She wanted to be an ace and Georgia is a perfect landing spot for her.
I think the source of our problems is gone. I wish her the best but I am still really disappointed by the whole thing. It was fun watching her improve. Tech can take all the locker room issues.

 

OU thought they had a shot with Terry so they are still on arm search. Getting a little more desperate with that i would imagine. Hope our girls are solid.

 

I am so ready for us to start announcing our transfers, please Tim! Lol! I hope he is cooking in the transfer portal
