To be clear, this suit does not create law nor was it even surprising. As the Supreme Court laughed the ncaa out of court, justice kavanaugh mocked them: “The ncaa is not above the law….Nowhere else in America can businesses get away with agreeing not to pay their workers a fair market rate on the theory that their product is defined by not paying their workers a fair market rate." Maybe instead of folks taking shots at lawyers (some deserve it!), this case is more about the ncaa and schools flouting the law so they could greedily make billions? They are paying $2.8 Billion for past damages!!! Where will these poor not for profit schools find the money? Of course they probably couldn’t afford their own lawyers, right? Give me a break, the ncaa and their highly paid lawyers got their legal asses kicked because they were wrong and refused to try to settle on or create a better system. They got us in this mess.
Lots of negativity coming out about that program. Stoops may have some tough seas to negotiate this season if all the doom and gloom is correct.
I had a FSU fan tell me he thinks "this is"...wait for it..."their year" today. Not sure Ive heard them do that in early June yet here we are coming off a 2 win season already selling it. Then the guy told me they will be much better than last year and they expect big improvements. I politely agreed with him and said "of course...big improvements...if things play out well for you I expect 4 wins which will indeed be a big improvement". Why do I hate FSU soooo much more than any other team. Please let their recruiting be in the 50's or lower.
I share your sentiment for FSU Endless. But with their schedule they can greatly improve their win-loss record and still be a crappy team.
Phil Steele's National Unit Rankings have the Gators: low#10 at QB, low#14 at RB, low#18 at WR, OK #5 on the o-line, OK #10 on the d-line, low #25 at LB, OK #10 in the secondary low & #13 on special teams.
they are recruiting ok, not elite but ok. They are still on some good players, but their momentum has slowed, and they have suffered some setbacks on targets they felt good about. The holes will lose some in the end as well as they get outbid but I expect them to normally be in the 15-20 range with a heavy reliance on the portal as long as CTN is there.
Phil Steel rankings are usually by the numbers. However, he is low on LBer for UF. A lot of talent at that position. WR is low but I get it, it's unproven and the ranking may be hindered by the % UF runs two TE formations. UF has two first rounders on DL but I also get that NT is probably hurting the grade there and Lyons is coming off an injury year. I also don't believe there are 13 teams with better backs than UF.
Those rankings suggest we should be a top 20 team. What was our schedule ranking? Had to be in the top 2 or 3.
