Since the earlier thread about judicial decisions was locked I started this one.

U.S. Court Agrees to Keep Trump Tariffs Intact as Appeal Gets Underway - The New York Times

While this is temporary to allow the courts to turn to the next legal arguments in the case. Better than having the tariffs be on again/ off again, this keeps them in place until the court makes a final ruling.

It’s also practical. If the tariffs are paused pending review they’re not getting the tariffs on all the goods shipped during the interim. However, if they’re kept in place and later ruled illegal then the US gov has to return the paid tariffs.

Yeah, how stupid would somebody have to be to want tariffs to turn off and on and change values every week at the whim of one person?

Yes, I agree, I wish that District Judge could have listened to you and not paused them in the first place. He could have ruled that he agreed that the tariffs were wrong but let them in place until the judical process was complete.

You really don't see the irony here? Seriously? I guess the judge should have just tweeted out the ruling...then reversed it...then re-instated it...then partially reversed it...then totally reversed it...
