They talked Friday evening which obviously isn't "a day ago."

    Here's a more objective timeline:

Playing along, Newsome and the mayor have not been agitators?

So, if you have 5 pockets of peaceful protests and 3 pockets of violent rioting it turns into a ratio decision?

One person is shot at while numerous federal agents are assaulted, and federal property is vandalized.

Bottom line, if local officials are unwilling to uphold federal law or impede federal agents from doing their jobs, the feds have an obligation to step in. Both instances warranted federal action to be taken.

What I'm saying is that current situation is not remotely similar to the Rodney King riots of 1992 and would have never escalated to that point. What Trump is doing and conceding that it's probably working is that he is trying to create the impression that the situations are similar when in fact they are not. If you actually recall the Rodney King riots erupted almost immediately after the verdict exonerating the police officers was announced. Nothing remotely close has happened in LA over the last three or so days including the day before Trump deployed the National Guard.

Did they say immigration laws couldnt be enforced in the city or state or something? Pull back the cops? You are just blaming them for people protesting, which is ridiculous. And I guess, not being vicious enough to them. All those Southern politicians were openly defiant of the federal government and integration.

I've only seen Newsom denouncing violence and encouraging peaceful protests. I haven't seen him encouraging violence, but if that's untrue I'd take that into consideration. To generally answer your question, yes the decision to send in the military should be nuanced and take the entire situation into context. A federal building being vandalized isn't sufficient imo. Have a handful of agents been assaulted? Dozens? Hundreds? That all matters.

Just one of many articles citing CA's obstruction of federal laws.

You didnt quote anyone, you just posted an article. If Newsome or Bass was calling for a "massive resistance" strategy to immigration laws, seems like we'd probably hear about it lol.

Not exactly an objective article when it only looks at the rhetoric coming from one side and not the other. If you overhear someone getting into an argument over the phone, it's pretty tough to tell if they're overreacting without hearing the other side of the conversation, right?

For example, there's a section of outrage regarding Newsom's tweet to withhold federal tax dollars, but that was only in response to Trump who first threatened to cut off federal funding to California. Hard to get upset solely at Newsom regarding tax dollars when he didn't start it.

So why are your sources saying that his claim of a lack of a call on 6/9 was a lie because they had a call on 6/7? As far as I know, he never claimed to have never talked to him, simply that no such call occurred yesterday as Trump claimed. Seems like the President and your sources lied, if that is the standard.

If some continue to ferment insurrection, look for Trump to invoke the Insurrectionist Act. Arrests and bloodletting will be on the hands of the democratic party.

Trump Issues Another Warning: We Aren’t Playing Around

Speaking from the Oval Office Tuesday afternoon, President Donald Trump was asked by a reporter if he's willing to invoke the Insurrection Act if riots in Los Angeles or elsewhere continue.

"If there's an insurrection, I would certainly invoke it. If we didn't get involved, right now Los Angeles would be burning just like it was burning a number of months ago," Trump reiterated on Truth Social. "We are not playing around."

In other news, the first death that I know of happened overnight when someone was found dead on a sidewalk near a store targeted by the Antifa Smash & Grab anarchists:

Police: Body Found Near Looted Stores During Anti-ICE Riots in L.A.

Police said a man’s body was found in an area of Los Angeles on Tuesday where looters targeted businesses as anti-ICE protests have brought chaos to the city.

Authorities got a call around 1:30 a.m. regarding a body found on a sidewalk in the downtown area on West 3rd and Broadway, the New York Post reported. Officials have not identified the man but are investigating.

There is a T-Mobile store at the intersection that looters hit recently, according to the report. Police assessed the area and the man, who was wearing a red sweatshirt, before covering him up.

So there are already thousands of cops and then Trump sent in thousands of nat’l guard troops with most standing idly by. And trump is also sending in marines so he can boast about it.

“After persistent questioning about the cost of sending National Guard members and Marines to Los Angeles in response to protests over immigration raids, Hegseth turned to his acting comptroller, Bryn Woollacott MacDonnell, who said it would cost $134 million.”
