Like that pickup. Was needed for depth behind Jocey.

 

Pretty solid get. Along with those stats...she apparently threw out 9 of 9 attempts to steal. That's almost impossible.

 

Ella Wesolowski looks like a solid backup C behind Jocey. I am relieved and glad that CTW is still at the helm. All of this internet/social media drama has had me quite concerned (nervous).

 

I guess this can't be correct. If you read the official State fielding stats, unless I don't know how to read them, that's what it looks like...9-9. But Ella has a post on her twitter page from a month or so ago saying that she had thrown out 47% of runners (which is still good) but obviously negates 9-9. I did say it was impossible in my defense.

I think that's caught stealing base (csb) vs. stolen bases allowed (sba); so 9 and 9 would basically mean 9 caught out of 18 attempts or 50%. That matches up for the team totals of 25 allowed in 37 attempts (expressed as 25 sba vs. 12 csb).

I took it as meaning "sba...stolen bases attempted" and "csb...caught stealing base". If it means she was at 50%, that's fine with me.

 

If rick (aka The Evaluator) says she is a "solid get" them I'm sure she is. However, CTW has to do better than a few "solid gets" to get this team back to the WCWS.

 

Well, the only thing I really know about her is she is from Williamsville, NY. That is a suburb of Buffalo. People from there are dumb as a rock. I know this to be a fact. My sister has lived in Buffalo for 60 years and you can't get any dumber than that.

 

FYI....Last year's three players we got from the portal were announced on 6/20, 6/25, and 6/27.

 

Just throwing out a name to see if anyone has more information about her. Paislie Allen, freshman middle infielder from Georgia, entered the portal yesterday. She's from Lewisville, TX. She got off to a good start at Georgia playing 2nd base. But over the season her hitting tailed off and she ended up being a part time player, with 27 starts, 65 at bats and a .246 BA. If I recall correctly, CTW was coaching in early June last year.

 

I would take a chance on that and we have developed a good relationship with Texas Glory. This is one to watch.

 

Alyssa Hovermale is transfering to South Carolina

 

This the latest from Softball America on Kiley Channell… there is still a chance.

 

On3 is showing her as deciding between Auburn, Clemson & Ole Miss. We can always hope.

 

Do you have a link? I can't find her committing to anyone yet. I did see that South Carolina got a commit from an Ole Miss middle infielder yesterday.
