The same report also said he was arrested, so I don't know what to believe. You don't get arrested and drug down to the pokey if its a civil matter. You get a subpoena.

UF Basketball individuals under investigation for wrongdoing with opposite sex preseason, Post-season: National Champs
UF Football individual under investigation for wrongdoing with opposite sex preseason, Post-season: ???

A few points gleaned from the article. The victim stated they've had a relationship for 3 years, which means she must have moved to Gainesville when he enrolled. His parents said they are moving to Gainesville to be close and give him more support, which IMO would mean they must have spoke to some admin people and they have an indication long term he is staying in Gainesville, probably connected to the team. The other info from the article is he has a public defender, which, in the old days, he would get the private lawyer (like a Huntley Johnston type) who did most of these types of cases for UF athletes.

In a strange twist, his attorney was once arrested for child abuse. However, the charges were dropped.

Having a public defender doesn't say much for his NIL deal.

Are college teams today divided between the haves and the have nots?

You would think teams have a ringer on retainer. Public defender? We can do better than that .

I'm usually the first to say he has to go, but, I think every juvenile deserves a second chance. I've seen people make one mistake at that age and completely turn their lives around when they realize what they've done. So, I'm in the camp of believing that everyone deserves a second chance, but, few (if any) deserve a third.

Second chances are needed many times but we have too many chances and thats why we are overun with crime. How do people have 20+ violent felonies and still kill people.

The alleged victim said the abuse has been going on for 3 years, so she moved to Gainesveille with him after years of abuse??? Sounds odd.

Also, he's defended by a public defender, what happened to that "fixer" attorney that used to get the player's cases? We need him back in action.

It may have something to do with that fact that he is a juvenile. Our "fixer" is on the other case concerning the traffic stop.

Gotta let him go if guilty and hope boireau has a great year. We are already thin at defensive line. Hopefully we show that this stuff won’t be tolerated.

Yes. If he's guilty and irredeemable, no doubt. I haven't followed but the underlying accusations and incident seem potentially serious. If he's an abuser and cannot help himself, it might only be a matter of time before he does it again.
