That poster is subscriber to conspiracy theory websites that traffic in antisemitism. So do not believe anything he says. Conservatives Jew typically do not consider themselves as white since that is often translated to Anglo-Saxon and the Jews did not have a great history living with the Anglo-Saxons and the people that followed them in power in Europe. Jews actually made out better under Muslim rule during this time.
Suspending Moran was absolutely the right thing to do. If you are in a journalistic role where your job is to be objective saying such things is highly unprofessional. For someone with an editorial or opinion role it isn’t as clear cut. For the record I suspect Moran is correct. I don’t see this type of self censoring at Fox or other right wing outlets - unless of course it is critical of Trump.
Miller reminds me of that Gestapo officer in Raiders of the Lost Ark whose face melted off when he looked at the light. Always sweaty and clammy looking.
Kind of surprised Moran would say that, but he is 65, close to retirement so probably figured why not call it like he sees it at this point. I do find the comments challenging his objectivity given his comments rather humorous. The same folks criticizing Moran seem to have no concerns with the public comments of Supremes Alioto and Thomas impacting their objectivity for deciding on court cases, which is far more impactful.
The irony as Stephen Miller's uncle pointed out is that if Miller's criteria for immigration was in effect when his grandparents and great grandparents emigrated from Europe to America to escape the pogroms against Jewish residents of Eastern Europe his entire family would have been denied admission to the US and would have perished in the Holocaust. Stephen Miller Is an Immigration Hypocrite. I Know Because I’m His Uncle. - HIAS Pennsylvania I shudder at the thought of what would have become of the Glossers had the same policies Stephen so coolly espouses— the travel ban, the radical decrease in refugees, the separation of children from their parents, and even talk of limiting citizenship for legal immigrants — been in effect when Wolf-Leib made his desperate bid for freedom. The Glossers came to the U.S. just a few years before the fear and prejudice of the “America first” nativists of the day closed U.S. borders to Jewish refugees. Had Wolf-Leib waited, his family likely would have been murdered by the Nazis along with all but seven of the 2,000 Jews who remained in Antopol. I would encourage Stephen to ask himself if the chanting, torch-bearing Nazis of Charlottesville, whose support his boss seems to court so cavalierly, do not envision a similar fate for him.
UF grad. Apparently, she was a student government dirtbag before she became a real government version.
The right was outraged when Biden administration was reporting posts with COVID misinformation to social media sites. So far, none seem concerned about this similar attempt by the federal government to influence private media companies.
If your job is to be objective, then yes, it is inappropriate to publicly post strong opinions about the people and administration you are supposed to be objectively reporting. The same standard should apply to all journalists, of course, including both Fox and CNNBC
