You really do like spamming threads by responding endlessly to off topic trolls. I don’t see the trolls, as they are all ignored but i do see yours. It’s annoying.
By definition he is an “innocent victim” until due process and evidence shows he committed a criminal act. Innocent until proven guilty and all that. The govt doesn’t get to skip past that whole “due process” part even for immigrants. The only issue I see focusing on this guy, is there are supposedly dozens who similarly got sent to the same place with no criminal record. They ALL need proper due process. This prison was supposed to be for dangerous MS-13, and personally I think it’s ludicrous for us to outsource even convicted criminals. We purportedly have a justice system in the U.S. But you may notice the argument became no longer about MS-13. It shifted to him being “not so innocent” because of a domestic violence incident and/or he may have transported some undocumented at a Home Depot. This is supposed to be the bar to send someone to life in prison?
the argument keeps changing...didnt start out as due process but then became due process...until he was brought back and is being given due process...now they need to change the argument to something else.
The argument was always due process. We deported a man with a protective stay order that should have allowed him to legally stay and sent him straight to prison despite the fact he has never, until recently, faced any formal charges, let alone been convicted. If the government thinks he is guilty, then charge him and allow him the chance to defend himself against his accusers and accusations. That's all the "left" has been asking for since the start.
@BLING’s post to which you are responding mentions due process no less than three times, including in the very opening sentence (bolding mine):
Oh interesting. Perhaps then, you could explain to us the reason people were saying that we shouldn't be sending this person (and others) to a foreign prison without a trial. Were people saying not to send him there because the food was bad? The weather? Maybe you can even post some links to contemporaneous statements from people, and their reasoning on why this shouldn't occur? Shouldn't be hard for you, right? After all ...... their reasoning "didn't start out as due process". It changed to that, right? Substantiate your mistruth (or possibly just mistake). We'll be waiting.
He mentioned it 3 times in his post this morning. But how many times did he mentioned it in the day he was originally taken by ICE?
What is maggat's reason why he wasn't arrested and charged in 2018, and is transporting people from one state to the other, rather than across a border, really considered trafficking? Is it is, why is DuhSantis still free?
I was thinking on your statement that they now need to change the focus to something else. If you are suggesting that the left should not have engaged in the focus on whether Kilmar was guilty, I agree and said as much in the original thread. However, the right was equally focused on the same thing, so that is a criticism of both sides. However, while I don’t have BLING’s entire posting history, I would note that the very first post about Kilmar in the original thread also mentioned due process. Wouldn’t it be good form to update the title of the link you posted to include the various crimes with which the “Maryland Father” has been charged?
Being to charged is not necessarily a final determination of guilt. If that's what you believe how about the guy who apparently received your vote for the presidency? Here's a list of crimes with which he was charged most of which he will never even go to trial thanks to voters like you.
Wonder how much the federal and state governments (ie taxpayers) spend each year to prosecute and incarcerate illegals that commit crimes while in the US …. illegally?
On a per capita basis, less than citizens. What you really have a problem with is the human race. Women keep birthing criminals and will continue to do so into perpetuity. If only something could be done about this.
