Funny, this issue goes back to Eisenhower, if not even earlier.

Ronald Reagan is the only POTUS to initiate significant immigration reform though. You may or may not be aware of that.

It’s been purposefully broken. Bush tried to fix it and his own party turned against him because they want to exploit undocumented labor. Wake up!

That certainly is what the article from the OP is trying to present. And it might be the case. But sorry. Hard to believe this is a heart warming story where the government is the bad guy.

I am a limited government guy. But we are a Nation of Laws. Maybe the facts support the heart warming story you seem to just believe without knowing the facts. But odds are you are on the wrong side here…

By now, you have to know how funny it is to hear a Trump supporter say anything like this, right?

Yeah, borders and sovereignty are so overrated. Who needs immigration laws. We could just open up the borders (been there and done that) and become another Third World country too.

For over our first 100 years, we had no immigration laws. The first one, the Chinese Exclusion Act, wasn't passed until 1882.

And we are a nation of laws, but from the very start, our Founding Fathers were willing to break unjust laws. Specifically taxation without representation, and everyone who threw tea in Boston Harbor were all breaking the law. So did c everyone who took up arms during the Revolution.

Throughout our history, more persons broke unjust laws in protest. Rosa Parks, for example, broke the law to protest segregation. So did MLK Jr, who was arrested around 30 times in his life.

Now, back to the OP. Can anyone justify arresting this couple when the result is their citizen children are harmed, their business and employees are harmed, and the community is harmed by losing tax paying business owners. Sure, if you're racist, you celebrate the deportation of brown people, but that's not justification in my opinion.
