Thought fsu won their game. Checked this thread and it made my day. Hate seeing fsu revive as a program after how much they fell the last few years but this was very enjoyable. No shame in schadenfraude for me!

 

The pain of the Holes is fuel for the Gator soul.

 

Auburn had 1st and 2nd no out bottom of the 9th, they don't bunt and strike out. Next guy hits a liner to 2nd that's caught and doubles up guy on 2nd base. Coastal hits a HR top of 10th and is threatening to score more.

Not bunting to move the runners over bottom of 9th will be heavily discussed to put it lightly.

 

I’m laughing at this. Coastal Carolina coach in presser demanding he wants a different start time for Saturday game given how late the game played last night.

I’m guessing using his presser to get attention is old hat to him.

 

This year is a tough one with regards to who we should root for/against.

First and foremost root against the Holes. That sub-human horde of crap must never win a baseball NC.

After that it gets dicey.

Don’t want Arkansas to win it as a baseball NC gives them the trifecta, which only UF holds currently in the SEC.

Same with Auburn. Bruce Pearl is coming awfully close to a hoops NC so we definitely don’t want their baseball program to have one.

Vols we can’t do anything about baseball as they already won a NC. But do we really want Vitello empowered by multiple titles? He’s already the most arrogant ass to exist so do we want to top that?

LSU has 6 I believe. What’s one more?

But I’m going with Oregon State all the way.

Oregon State seems to be the logical choice. They won it after our 2005 trip I think in ‘06 and’07. Anyway they’ve been there before and to my memory run a pretty solid program.

Just don’t want to have to hear it from the hounds or the corndogs.

 

As long as the Holes don’t win it. Let that pressure continue to pile on their program.

I am rooting for the biggest underdog, Murray State

 

I would of bunted(to avoid DP mainly) but noone thats watched them all year was shocked they didnt in that part of lineup. They trusted McMurray would at least hit something to right side(does that often) They gambled on not giving up an out and 1 of next 3 up to deliver.. They lost. Its the one time I was wishing Fabian was due up..lol guaranteed sac bunt.

Not the worst decision of night IMO. Taking Graves out who was untouchable for the closer Hetzler was what I didnt like. Hetzler wasnt sharp last outing either. And it also turned Bodine back to left side where hes seemingly a better hitter.(at least lastnight) Also didnt like pitch call on Bodines HR. Same pitch/spot his first HR was off Dutton..off speed low & in. But AU players call own game/pitches, thats how you learn. Duttons 3rd not great start in a row. Hes hit the RS Sr wall maybe...

All in all a team loss for sure.. bad base running on the 2 DPs in 9th & 10th also.. Though almost cant blame either,, eager to score winning run in 9th & tying run in 10th on weird hit balls that could of just as easily got through.

I said 2 minutes after regional win, they wont go any further if Guevara & Belyeu are both out of line up. Not an excuse , just a fact. Not that scoring was really an issue, but arguably the best 2 bats after Ike.

Coastal should be a heavy fav today w/ pitching matchup. Havent see AU Starter yet, but would assume Tilly, who likes to walk &/or hit 6 or 7 guys per outing. But has best stuff on team so??? maybe get lucky today. Not a bad rebuild year either way. Keep all the Freshmen out of portal & should be pre season T10 next year.

 

I assumed wrong.. Fr Andreas Alvarez(Seminole, Fl) to save season.. He was good v worn out NCST, which was his first weekend start of the year. Guessing Tilly will piggy back today & another Fr starter tomorrow if make it.

Burning Myers & Graves lastnight in loss was worst case scenario...lol Myers only left bc of 2 hour delay. Graves never enters otherwise.

 

One more thing on the no bunt. McMurray has attempted to bunt for hit vs shift(empty left side) numerous times last couple of years. I think he got 1 of 20ish down for hit. But always vs LHP. He hit 385 vs RHP this year, which is probably about same % of him getting sac bunt down. lol I still bunt, but all that factored into not.

CC would of also just walked switch hitter Steel to bring up up 2 RH.. but I still bunt lol

Im rooting for Arky or Auburn but wouldn’t mind seeing Murray State moving on.

 

They also won in 2018 when Arkansas had them beat and choked away the title worse than anyone I have ever seen. They had it all wrapped up but dropped the final out on a gimme pop fly & it all snowballed from there…

 

I remember that—pop up down the RF line behind first base in foul territory, right?
