Public defenders are available to anyone charged with a crime. Something about the law or stuff. Guess you’re able to judge him “guilty until proved innocent.”
Doesn't it seem like to some or most of these Trump supporters, the Constitution and the law are just ..... what is desired by Donald J. Trump? Probably because to them, they are. Although they're all into the law and stuff when it can be used to punish someone they Donald J. Trump doesn't like. The hypocrisy is baffling. Off-topic; doesn't it seem like some posters are just here to consistently gum up any discourse with meaningless and vapid quips? I hate using the block ... but do they merit response?
The other side is always terrible. But you know, doc, this case is a good test of republican virtue because if laws don’t apply to the worst of us, they aren't laws at all. This was well put many years ago in the play A Man for All Seasons: William Roper: “So, now you give the Devil the benefit of law!” Sir Thomas More: “Yes! What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?” William Roper: “Yes, I'd cut down every law in England to do that!” Sir Thomas More: “Oh? And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned 'round on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country is planted thick with laws, from coast to coast, Man's laws, not God's! And if you cut them down, and you're just the man to do it, do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!”
I have the same thought pretty much every time you post jo.... Kudos to you for admitting your flaw...I will continue to refrain from blocking you. It's humorous reading your bull shit. I sort of enjoy it.
If you believe they never made these claims before, then you just weren’t listening. The body cam footage of the Tennessee police who had pulled him over carrying a load of people far from where he lived with no viable explanation went public weeks ago. It is probably available for you to see with a quick YouTube search.
The DNC knew too. Didn’t matter. They were lying to their supporters. Even if somebody wants to argue that someone at the DNC didn’t have access to this information beforehand, people must understand that lawyers don’t stick their necks out (and gasp.. their reputations) for random, unknown illegal immigrants, who just happen to have a MS-13 rap sheet to boot. They knew, just like they knew when they left the border open. They don’t care.
His MS-13 rap sheet? The one with a single allegation from a cop that is a proven liar? And ties AG to the gang because he wore Chicago Bulls gear which signifies a gang in New York, even though AG lived in Maryland? That rap sheet? But if AG is truly a criminal, let the state prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt in court. Which is what AG deserves, the chance to face his accusers and defend himself. You know, habeas corpus. If he's guilty, let it be very decided by a jury. And if the prosecution brings up the MS-13 "rap sheet," the defense will likely tear it apart.
Explain how Ron DeSantis can send people to TX - not his jurisdiction- to transport people from TX to other states - that aren’t his jurisdiction and doing so without the permission of those states - how is that not trafficking also? if the Garcia thing ever went to trial, which it never will, that’s the first thing I would show a Jury - how can Ron DeSantis do this but Garcia can’t?
So the prosecutor is his dream job resigned in protest of trumped up charges means nothing to you? Seriously?
I drove a truckload of likely illegal workers out to many a job site. Does that make me a human trafficker?
Yes. Habeas separates us from China. Are you feeling good that habeas iss confirmed?...or would you prefer authoritarianism?
Ever drive a truck full of people to work? Now truck is full of illegal workers and he doesn't have citizenship. Nervea?
Are the criminal charges necessary? Couldn't they deport him through an immigration hearing with presumably a lower burden of proof? Or does the prior court order make it more difficult to deport him without convicting him? My point being that the evidence doesn't appear to be overwhelming and with the publicity will be subject to much more scrutiny. Then there's also the resignation of a career, senior prosecutor who believes the charges are politically motivated. However, my gut tells me with backing all the way up the AG, that they're confident in being able to secure a conviction since they'll have unlimited resources at their disposal. Perhaps they see it as a win/win situation - either they prove he's a criminal or they lose and continue to stoke the culture war by pointing to democrats rooting for the illegal criminal (facts be damned that he was found not guilty in that hypothetical).
Those governors actions were more blatantly criminal. They lied to those people and told them they had jobs. Even printed up fake informational pamphlets. Then when they arrived, no jobs, just dumped them in “LiBrUL” locations as a stunt. Clown show. I don’t think person X committed a crime and got away with it is a defense for person Y. But in either case one of the elements for human trafficking is “Force, Fraud, or Coercion”. We know that FRAUD 100% happened with those immigrant flights as they lured them with false promises. I suspect that type of evidence is lacking here and this is why prosecutor resigned, but we’ll see.
