Question for anybody, Why is there a mercy rule in softball? I was watching the Florida /UT game the other day and was expecting the game to go to the bottom of the fiifth and then it ended. If UT can get 7 runs in the first inning why can’t we get 7 runs in the sixth inning? and 8 runs is not much of a differential. Baseball doesn’t have it.
Baseball has 10 run rule (after 7) in reg season & most if not all conf tourneys. But not in ncaa post season.. I completely agree w/ your theory. Although it doesnt bother me as much in SB as Bb, due to pitching.
I think its been around in softball before espn paid much attention,,now baseball.. youre on to something
Im still wonder why SB doesnt have the safety base. SB is where it originated & has far more plays that will involve it,, bunts/small ball, etc. but w/ that said I cant recall any collision at 1b in any SB this year , not major ones anyways.
FSU pitcher is really good. And to think he’s there #2. We gotta get back to our old selves next year as to think Miami and Florida State are ahead of us or at least finishing the year better than us is concerning. Doesn’t matter to me that we beat them two out of three they finished stronger and are still playing.
Noles up 4-1 vs the Beavers with 2 outs in the 9th. A hit, a walk, a single from a guy hitting .154, a WP, next thing ya know it's tied. On to the 10th.
