Our system is pretty messed up when you can be here illegally but still own a home and business. Our entire immigration system needs to be completely overhauled.

This nuclear family of working, business-owners who apparently break no laws are exactly the type of people who we do not want in our country. But if we could somehow find the diametric opposite of this, why I'd vote that person to be president!
It states in the article they skipped out on a court hearing 20 years ago, and had a previous deportation order. There are plenty of stories of this admin doing horrible things, but this one seems pretty cut and dry. While it says they had a business, I’d wonder if that business was paying taxes? If not, then that is fraud against the United States and that would be ANOTHER reason for deportation. If the business was paying payroll taxes and such (legal employees) then I’d be more sympathetic vs if even their 10 employees were illegals. But if the business was illegal, as I suspect, then I don’t see how you defend it (or how you use it in defense of deportation). A U.S. citizen avoiding taxes by paying employees under the table would be jailed for tax evasion.

The fact that you can own a business in the US without citizenship should be banned. I cant paint my house without the city all over my ass, but an illegal or foreign investor can do whatever the hell they want? Not saying this case should be done like this, but just more proof that the entire immigration system and our govt is a freaking joke.

Illegal labor is legitimately a benefit to everyone unless you're trying to be a laborer and can't get a decent paying job.
I did not skip that, it said he applied in 2021. What happened in all that time in between? Arguably he should never have been granted anything given the skipped court date and deportation order. It’s fair enough point that I’m making an assumption about the business. If he followed the law on that it would be strongly in his favor. If he employed illegals then it 100% eviscerates any defense. It’s fair to say we don’t have those facts though, i’m operating on assumptions.
So, Toyota, Kia, Honda Jet, Merck, etc....should not be allowed to own businesses in the United States? So, you really do want to turn the US to turn into China where you can have your logo on the building, but that state always owns it and can take it away from you in an instant without notice?
