A mother and father in Apopka are set to be deported, leaving their four American children in the care of the oldest sibling, who could also assume responsibility for the family home and business. Esvin Juarez was detained, and his wife, Rosemary Miranda, has an ankle monitor and a plane ticket for June 14 to return to the pair's home country of Guatemala after living in the United States for more than 20 years. "Honorable judge, stop the deportation of our parents, Esvin Juarez and Rosemary Miranda..." said 21-year-old daughter Beverly Juarez in a TikTok that has recently gone viral. Miranda and her daughter sat down with WESH 2 in their Apopka home. "It would be overwhelming for any person my age to have to take custody of three kids," Juarez said. "We really don't want the worst-case scenario to happen because they're just kids, they have needs that only a parent can fill." Juarez' father Esvin owns a business and, along with his wife, purchased the family home the two reside in with their four children. Daughter pleads case as Apopka parents set to be deported This couple has been in the US for 20 years, owns a home and has a business to which they have 10 employees. Are these the type of people we want to waste our resources on?
Our system is pretty messed up when you can be here illegally but still own a home and business. Our entire immigration system needs to be completely overhauled.
Alternative thread title: “Parasite spawn decrees Guatemalan warlords should be free to terrorize United States.”
This nuclear family of working, business-owners who apparently break no laws are exactly the type of people who we do not want in our country. But if we could somehow find the diametric opposite of this, why I'd vote that person to be president!
It states in the article they skipped out on a court hearing 20 years ago, and had a previous deportation order. There are plenty of stories of this admin doing horrible things, but this one seems pretty cut and dry. While it says they had a business, I’d wonder if that business was paying taxes? If not, then that is fraud against the United States and that would be ANOTHER reason for deportation. If the business was paying payroll taxes and such (legal employees) then I’d be more sympathetic vs if even their 10 employees were illegals. But if the business was illegal, as I suspect, then I don’t see how you defend it (or how you use it in defense of deportation). A U.S. citizen avoiding taxes by paying employees under the table would be jailed for tax evasion.
You skipped the U Visa portion and his business is registered with the state. No one but the IRS can tell you if he paid taxes
The fact that you can own a business in the US without citizenship should be banned. I cant paint my house without the city all over my ass, but an illegal or foreign investor can do whatever the hell they want? Not saying this case should be done like this, but just more proof that the entire immigration system and our govt is a freaking joke.
This is why the immigration system is still broken. The fat cats in both parties use illegals for slave labor to increase profits.
Seems pretty antithetical to capitalist ideology lol. I have no idea what you mean but foreign corporations operate in the US and employ people, its not necessarily a bad thing.
Illegal labor is legitimately a benefit to everyone unless you're trying to be a laborer and can't get a decent paying job.
I did not skip that, it said he applied in 2021. What happened in all that time in between? Arguably he should never have been granted anything given the skipped court date and deportation order. It’s fair enough point that I’m making an assumption about the business. If he followed the law on that it would be strongly in his favor. If he employed illegals then it 100% eviscerates any defense. It’s fair to say we don’t have those facts though, i’m operating on assumptions.
So, Toyota, Kia, Honda Jet, Merck, etc....should not be allowed to own businesses in the United States? So, you really do want to turn the US to turn into China where you can have your logo on the building, but that state always owns it and can take it away from you in an instant without notice?
