Adios sooners. My heart is happy. As long as I don't think about how this was a good chance for us.

I will say Abby Dayton has seen Canady more than anybody because of olaying for Utah. And had been putting good bat on the ball. Wouldve been very careful there

What a game and congrats to TT for showing tremendous resiliency in coming back from that gut punch. Just hope they can beat Texas. But at least Oklahoma is out.

It’s actually probably going to get worse for you. Now you will forever be inundated with excuses and tears.

That was the most callous IBB attempt I've ever seen (Canady). I wonder if she's ever been asked to do that before. Feel awful for her to have to give up a pair of runs on a request to surrender. Has to be devastating. Interested to see how she handles it going forward. Also a great case for no automatic IBBs, pitch it out and see what happens.

    Go GATORS!

I'm wanting Texas Tech to win the series, but congrats to Texas tonight for overcoming a bad obstruction call and them for their catcher staying ready to hit an intentional walk pitch on a 3-0 count and the delivering. Who ever thought Nijaree Canady's weakness would be the intentional walk!? Fin game to watch, especially with no dog in the hunt.

I just happened channel flipping last night.

College baseball and college softball umpiring is just bad period which has been the case for a long time.

In theory your best umpires from the NCAA are supposed to be representing the world series games.

    1. Yes Texas did get screwed on the obstruction call and yes that Texas Tech runner was throw out by normal rules. I have no clue what the hell intepretation they were trying to do last night but I will tell you Texas Tech sure as hell was gifted in run in the 6th inning.

    2. Yes karma does exist because that very next half inning apparently the Texas Tech staff does not know how to intentionally walk a player. Two outs - two runners on base - one of best Texas hitters at bat and you proceed to throw pitches over the plate instead of throwing pitches off the plate in trying to walk the batter. I can't believe Canady has never in her life intentionally walk anyone before. That was utter stupidity. And the thing is she threw over the plate the first pitch and then did the same thing again getting closer over the plate. At that point the head coach or the pitching coach should have immediately called a time out to say what the hell are you doing and this is the way you intentionally walk someone. But instead it continued again and the ball was not throw at a full speed by Canady so it was a BP type of fastball pitch which then was proceed to get hit scoring two runs in the bottom of 6th inning.

    3. 7th inning then you had some sort of umpires interference that caused the Texas Tech base runner to go back to first base in the 7th inning after she stole the base. I have never seen that before.

I would just say Texas Tech was gifted a run and then completely choked in the next half inning from a 50 million dollar picture who does not know how to intentionally walk a batter. If you are getting paid that type of money but better not make any mistakes period. That is the rub on all of this NIL stuff. You want to get paid - that is fine - but you better produce in the end.

Texas Tech is done. I suspect the Texas hitters will begin to dial into her pitches tonight. Probably low scoring game but Texas Tech can't hit good pitching.

No. I don’t like the idea of a new conference member coming in and winning it all. Bad enough OU won the regular season. Fwiw I was hostile towards tamu and Mizzou when they joined, still am a bit actually lol.

Texas Tech just signed Canady for next season for another million bucks which gives me two million reasons to root against them.

I don’t like it either but that’s the game now. She won’t be the last superstar to make that kind of deal. I suppose at least it’s better that all the money is in the open now. I imagine those love truck stop people were wheeling and dealing and signing checks behind the scenes long before NIL.

I bet if you look at Oklahoma's payroll, it's bigger than Texas Tech's as well as any other softball program.

There is a post in the Gator fans fb page that says OU has the most high earners, with 6. That's all I can remember of tje top of my head.

Stubhub tickets to tonight's winner-take-all game in the WCWS are selling for about 25% of the price of a similar seat for the UF/FSU game in Tallahassee this year. I'm not exactly sure what it says when you have to pay 4x more to see a regular season game.
