Baseball vs. Fairfield, Sat 5/31, 3:00 pm

Congratulations to the entire team for being clutch when it counts! Thank You @Gatorgal04 one more time for all your time and efforts.

 

Liam had a bad outing. It happens.

However, If the Gators had won game 1 behind King, Liam would have been facing Coastal tonight not Fairfield and we would probably still be sitting 1-1.

That said King was great today and the bats finally came alive and we played solid defense.. Of course it's still Fairfield. Hopefully the same performance shows up next game(s)

 

We may the best loser bracket winners in baseball.

 

Well that was at least a little cathartic. Let’s see if we can get one more.

 

Hope we haven’t spent all of our remaining runs for the weekend on one game.

Was there today and will tell you the TV measurement of that bomb off the batting facility roof is way off. A ball would have to travel like 440 just to hit it ..much less as far on the roof as that one landed. That thing was 450 plus

And their coach got tossed for arguing that our hitter walked behind the catcher while his new pitcher was warming up. At least that was the consensus in the stands. My guess is the 8 run inning was the real reason

 

The first instance of their coach getting angry was supposedly him arguing Lawson's front foot was out of the box when he hit the ball in whatever inning. It looked close on replay but as they said on tv no ump is actually checking that. I can't remember about the specifics of the ejection but felt like a carry over from that.

 

That is correct, but from our view we saw the ump tell him to stop as he was about to cross behind the catcher. That is when their coach charged out and told him to "do their job".
