Who's more corrupt, The Pulitzer board or the New York Times? Trump hails win as court rejects Pulitzer Board bid to pause suit President Donald Trump notched a significant legal victory this week in his ongoing effort to strip the New York Times and the Washington Post of their Pulitzer Prizes for reporting on alleged ties between his 2016 campaign and Russia — coverage he claims was false and defamatory.
What specific lie is he claiming in their reporting that received the award? I notice that was missing from the article.
Trump will never sit for deposition. In fact the case will never even come to trial for another more significant substantive reason. The lawsuit was filed in 2022 when Trump was candidate for the presidency. He filed it to support his narrative that Russian interference in the 2016 election was a hoax which I might add his MAGA supporters including those who post to this board believe as an article of faith. The last thing Trump wants is for the NY Times to present substantive evidence in open court that their articles were accurate. This reminds me of the defamation lawsuit against Tim O'Brien which Trump filed because O'Brien wrote a book interestingly while he was a reporter for NY Times indicating that Trump's self-reported net worth was greatly inflated. Before the lawsuit ever went to trial Trump dropped it.
