I’m sure that’ll depend on how their other starters stack up against the team they are playing in their game 1. Typically you can see teams roll the dice on 1 vs 4 but I’m sure it will come down to their best matchup.
Sounds like their rotation is pretty stout and they have plenty of options: "Not many teams in college baseball have as impressive of a starting rotation as Coastal Carolina. Redshirt sophomore Jacob Morrison touts a a 1.90 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and a 11-0 record in 14 starts. Sophomore Cameron Flukey has a 3.16 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 6-1 record in 14 starts. The final rotation piece is redshirt senior Riley Eikhoff, who wields a 3.19 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 6-2 record in 14 starts. As a team, Coastal Carolina has a 2.64 ERA in conference play with a 1.04 WHIP."
Updated weather on post #1: 79 Deg at the start and 82 to finish. 10-17% chance of pop-up showers, rain not expected. West wind at 8-10 = blowing out to left/center field. Looks like we're good to go.
May your bats be true, your feet be swift, your gloves be sure, and the luck of the bounce be on your side! Let's get this postseason party started. Go Gators!
Important to start good and get early lead. If that means bunting guys over to setup early run possibilities then do it.
UPDATE: Florida SS Colby Shelton is now on a day-to-day status, but did not take live at-bats or throw during Thursday’s practice at Vrooman Field, according to Gator Country’s Nick Marcinko. Shelton is out of the brace, but his hand remains heavily taped. It would be a surprise if he plays this weekend as he continues to recover from his injury. 15h
I didn’t want to say anything before it became public like this, but he did minimal work on Tuesday’s practice in Gainesville before leaving. Definitely got the impression that we won’t be seeing him play this weekend. Extra attention/bp was paid toward left handed sliders after regular bp as that is apparently the ecu guy’s go to.
