Perhaps, it is because the gap between "probable cause" and "guilt beyond a reasonable doubt" is quite wide. DOJ has to prove that she was aware of a specific investigation at the FBI (which has a legal definition) without using spousal communications. Doesn't seem like they had the evidence to charge, much less convict.

Up until late December of 2020 Barr was another enabler of Trump. Trump's continued denial of the results of the 2020 presidential election and the Donald's attempt to prevent the certification of the election was the proverbial straw the broke the camel's back. Let's not forget that it was Barr who delayed the release of Mueller Report in its entirety and tried to blunt Mueller's analysis by releasing a slanted summary of the report first.
