Chinese college gives Harvard international students "unconditional offers" Who wants to remind these international students that everything with China comes with major conditions. Who wants to be the one who tells these international students, that if your protest in China against the CCP, you don't have to worry about being deported. You'll just be jailed, if not killed. Tiananmen Square anyone?
I'm guessing that you don't recall the many protests held by HKUST students as the Chinese government encroached on Hong Kong's relative freedom... Regardless, sounds like you admire the CCP's treatment of student protesters (if Trump replicates it, of course).
Sounds like a smart move. For elite PhD students, China will own their work product and IP. I.e. things they used to have to engage in espionage to steal. Students should of course be weary of the CCP vs considering Europe or wherever as a backup, but in some ways just the fact that China are actually luring them/incentivizing them is offering these students more academic freedom than the United States… who apparently would give them ZERO academic freedom (by blocking or revoking visas completely for… reasons).
The irony is rich. In one thread, Donnie's worshipper warns foreign students not to go to China because there will be conditions and wouldn't be allowed to do things like have free speech. And in the other thread, the same worshipper wants the State Department put many of these same conditions onto foreign students who wish to study here in the US! Wouldn't that make us just as bad as Communist China?
