I've been watching since the first season, so I admit, I got my hopes up the first quarter. But damn, never seen the wheels come off like that. As mentioned by other posters, we couldn't even possess the ball. Checked from behind, running into double teams and panic passing. A remarkable string of losing the draw (14-1 at one point.) Low save percentage in goal. Credit to UNC, a lot of that was initiated by them. Hyper-aggressive and athletic double teams. "Checking to the echo of the whistle." And some shooters that were unconscious on catching, dodging.
This was a rebuilding year and they still made the Final 4. It'll come. It's tough, though, because all the best high school lacrosse is played in the Northeast and down the Atlantic Seaboard. Getting the best of the best to come to UF is tough and yet Coach O'Leary has kept us competitive year after year.
If memory serves, last year we eliminated UNC from tournament. Pay backs…..we WILL get to the top of the lacrosse mountain!
