I know this is a bunch of over-hype, but this signing may be the same kind of push (I realize we just won a NC) as Mike Miller was for Billy. It can open up the floodgates to a different level of player. Not going to say we sign them right out of HS (that is still a game for "those guys") but one year and then transfer sounds like a viable option. Unless you are one of "those type" of Gator basketball fans and then we NEVER get anything good. We just fall into championships...
An official visit? Where are all the folks in white tie and tails? What is happening to the world these days???
That gave me chills! Seems like a great kid that should fit right in to the culture. Come on back, Alex, and let's give it another go!
Thanks for posting this. It is very impressive for all athletes and parents. Oh to be good as Boogie. It seems he wants to develop and get better. Welcome Boogie, hope to see you grow and show out this year and have the NBA drooling!
Golden is so good at what he does, so natural. Hope Boogie fits in with the team culture, doesn't disturb the groove...but he does seem pretty chill. My worry was with all that money and hype it might get to his head and throw off team chemistry. Seems pretty grounded though, all things considered.
If I could rewrite the rules on NIL, which I obviously can't, I'd make NIL money exactly the same for each and every player in the country. During my many years and at many places as a working stiff, one thing that always caused friction between employees was salary. Even though they try to keep pay a secret, it gets out, and if one person made a hundred bucks more than another doing the same job, resentments would creep in.
Awesome. And from the video Boogie appears to now be a 50% 3PT shooter, so we should be pretty lethal on offense next year!
precisely, and with all our returning players, many who were instrumental in winning an NC, if they're making less money than an 18-year relatively unproven transfer, they may start thinking who is this guy and start resenting him. Or, personally if he doesn't play up to expectations, is he going to start forcing offense to get his numbers up just to validate his worth. Someone who "demands" that kind of money, smells of not being team first...but maybe I'm just overthinking it and it doesn't get to his head. I am pretty confident that Golden won't put up with that kind of bs though, and do what he can to keep him grounded. His teammates can do the same. Hey, we just won an NC, what have you done?
