Softball tournament has been interestso far with a number of upsets. None more monumental that the EGG Texas A&M laid in the regional. And f$u is gone but the 1,000,000 baby at TT make them very formidable in the WCWS. I sure hope that when we punch our ticket we are not matched up with TT to start off. Anyone know what SR winner we match with?
I've got to give Bama fans credit for they really support their team win or loose. They led the nation in softball attendance and finished 9th in the SEC.
Maybe not, and just a wild guess. Assuming the 2024 Bracket was how it's always done. The full bracket doesn't follow the logical path. The eight teams are broken down into Bracket 1 and Bracket 2 at the WCWS. Again, with just 2024 as the model. The Gators first Bracket 2 game would be against the Tenn. v. Nebraska winner. They'd be joined in Bracket 2 by the Arkansas v. Ole Miss winner and the Oklahoma v. Bama winner. The third set of games is when they crossover the two brackets to avoid immediate rematches. Go take a look at the 2024 Bracket for a visual idea of how it might work.
The world series bracket is always done by seeding and has been the same format since 2005. The games are decided by seeding if chalk holds. 1v8 & 4v5 in one side and the other side is 2v7 & 3v6, its always been like that. the 2024 bracket was no different than before
Thanks to gators_2018, I took another look and had it totally wrong. Regardless, the 2025 WCWS has the potential to be a battle for the ages.
Of course, the other side of the bracket is not as brutal as our side tbh. I could easily see Texas tech advancing to the semis on their side unless ucla comes back in their series. I mean if chalk holds our side is us, texas, oklahoma and Tennessee. That is just brutal.
Tennessee is cooked. Feels like Tennessee is gonna waste Pickens’ talent like Alabama did with Montana Fouts.
Mike white teams for whatever reason seem to underachieve come postseason going back to his Oregon days.
Kinda off topic, but how did the term "chalk" come about? It seems to mean "as originially written/planned?"
I’d like Clemson to just finish this off. However if it goes to a game three that’s cool as long as they play 35 innings.
It’s like in the Sting, when they used to write the betting odds on chalkboards. Kind of a cool nostalgic throwback.
