I take it you're in favor of the Golden Dome? I think what we have now--NORAD, monitoring systems, etc--are doing pretty well, as there is a noticeable lack of missile strikes on US territory. An expensive boondoggle, stamped with Trump's golden seal of approval.
How's about if we talk about cutting health insurance for seniors and the needy ....... before we do that, we take tax cuts for the rich off the table? Oh yeah - because those are what the Trump wants.
Golden dome will enhance our defensive capabilities and work with NORAD. You’re thinking we should wait for a successful attack before enhancing our capabilities?
I think it's a new, shiny thing. We can't even support current infrastructure, and many facilities have computers decades out of date, but sure, throw billions at The Next Great Thing. Upgrading the current system makes more sense to me.
Those numbers are based on an aging population (more Medicare beneficiaries) and, I assume, expected inflation in healthcare costs. Either way, Trump said he wouldn't cut Medicare. This bill cuts Medicare.
I can't believe people are falling for the Golden Dome schtick knowing it won't work as well as advertised and will line his pockets. These people believe anything the use car salesman tells them
So maga is cutting even more taxes, pouring Billions into the defense dept and offsetting it with Medicaid and some green energy cuts. Well , not really offsetting since the deficit is about to balloon by 3 Trillion per estimates by the cbo. Bizarre that folks bend over backwards to support this.
Hate to break it to you but we crossed the 100% debt to gdp rubicon a while ago. Currently at 37T to 30T: U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time
I'll bet real money that the Senate forces more spending cuts to this bill... I would love to see them drop that SALT deductions down to as close to nothing as possible.
Please tell me why the CBO was accurate in it's predictions of Trump's last tax cuts if they are so fake news? We both know you're just saying that because they're presenting you with information that you don't want to hear
I asked Grok how the bill would affect me Impact on You: The tax cuts sound promising, but the benefits for your family may be small (e.g., $500–$1,000 annually from the CTC and standard deduction) compared to the significant gains for high earners. Unfortunately I'm not a billionaire like Rick, Bill and some of the others on this board
the left's argument that we will be cutting medicare is the usual scare tactic aimed at seniors. Just looking, at Oklahoma's post, if a budget item is supposed to rise by X amount, and a Pub Prez or a Pub Congress wants to reduce the amount of built in growth, the left cries foul and says look look they want to cut medicare, or SS. We will NEVER balance the budget as long as we use baseline budgeting.
