Can’t believe they’re going to want people capable of working to actually get a job instead of just sitting at home collecting free handouts from the government. What has this country become?
I asked earlier and no one responded, what was the Medicade budget this year and what is it next year? Everyone keeps saying it is cut, but no one provides any numbers.
My bad, I thought that's what it was about. Edit: I will ask the same question then about Medicare, what was the budget this year and what is the proposed budget for next year?
The majority already are working the required hours per month according to HHS, but you do your narrative.
Such a lazy narrative. Many people who are on Medicare and Medicaid actively work, or were injured on their job or are disabled from some sort of injury and no longer are able to work. Also, screw those individuals with intellectual disabilities who are unable to work because they don’t need insurance. The GOP is evil, but we already knew that.
Ok Google search gives me the budget for HHS which Medicare is a part of but it doesn't get specific Medicare numbers. However, it does say that with this new bill that Medicare spending will be cut by 500 million over the next 8 years
Well here in lies the problem. Here is what I found: Medicare Baseline—06-2024 That shows Medicare at 1.14 tiillion in 2025 and increasing to 2.113 trillion 8 years from now. That is a 50% increase over 8 years, surly we can cut 63 billion a year out of that increase. That would mean a Medicare budget of 1.613 trillion in 8 years.
So you think the Inflation Reduction Act reduced the deficit, along with the third COVID Surplus Bill? This bill is a continuation of both parties not getting serious about tackling the national debt and we are now about to have it get very close to 100% of GDP.
I believe there were originally some work requirements for Medicaid in this bill that were used to show cuts for the CBO so it could pass Reconciliation. Not sure if those made it into the bill that passed.
Are you intentionally ignoring the CBO estimate of the impact of this bill? Why are we talking about something from 2024?
How can you, with a straight face, claim to worry about any of the Medicare spending when this bill adds $3trillion to the debt due to handouts to the wealthiest Americans? It’s disingenuous to compare Medicare future outlays when they are removing tax base
I honestly have never seen so many people line up to protect the tax rate of the top 1%. It is really crazy.
Google is your friend Medicaid not medicade first off they’re budgeting for this year not for next year that is just simply not how it’s done bottom line? People are going to die. It’s a complex and very complicated issue if you want to learn more, this website is not the place for that State-Level Context for Federal Medicaid Cuts of $625 Billion and Enrollment Declines of 10.3 Million
I don’t care what anyone says. You support increasing costs for 1 in 5 Americans, at the bottom, (40% which are children on Medicaid), to lower your taxes in the upper middle class or at the top, you are an evil person
