What “sides” are there here? Dude was a crazed radical who ambushed two civilians outside a museum. I doubt even his fellow group radicals approve straight up murder, even if they would possibly approve other questionable tactics of protest. If anything it hurts their cause, perhaps that’s what you mean. Like those envirowhackos who splash paint on priceless art. Even if they probably know the art is protected, the form of “protest” itself makes no sense. This is obviously well beyond any of that because it involved homicide (on U.S. soil no less).
