“Two Israeli Embassy staff were senselessly killed tonight near the Jewish Museum in Washington DC,” Noem said in a post on X. “We are actively investigating and working to get more information to share.”

The suspect, who Smith named as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez from Chicago, “was observed pacing back and forth outside of the museum” before he “approached a group of four people, produced a handgun and opened fire striking both of our decedents,” she said.

After the shooting, Smith said the suspect entered the museum and was detained soon after. The chief said the suspect “implied that he committed the offense” and, once handcuffed, he told security where he had discarded the weapon, which was recovered. The suspect chanted “Free, Free Palestine” while in custody, Smith said.

I saw another video of him speaking at the protest, and just the impression I got, wouldn't have not thought he would have been capable of that. These young kids get their minds ruined in some of these liberal colleges and wacko groups they become part of.

Dude was a crazed radical who ambushed two civilians outside a museum. I doubt even his fellow group radicals approve straight up murder, even if they would possibly approve other questionable tactics of protest. If anything it hurts their cause, perhaps that’s what you mean. Like those envirowhackos who splash paint on priceless art. Even if they probably know the art is protected, the form of “protest” itself makes no sense. This is obviously well beyond any of that because it involved homicide (on U.S. soil no less).
