President Donald Trump said Thursday that he will appoint Fox News host and former prosecutor Jeanine Pirro to serve as interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia. His announcement on social media came hours after he told reporters in the Oval Office he’d replace interim U.S. attorney Ed Martin, who struggled to gain enough Senate support to be confirmed and could only serve as the interim pick until May 20.
