Well, this is interesting. Wonder why Delaney Hall is now a problem. Local dem politicians are ridiculous. From the link: "Delaney Hall operated as a federal immigration processing center for six years under President Obama’s administration, without opposition from local political leaders," GEO Group said in a statement. It added that the facility has "created hundreds of unionized jobs" and is expected to contribute $50 million to the local economy.“ https://www.reuters.com/world/us/ne...-detention-center-prosecutor-says-2025-05-09/
Habba also called for further action against Rep. LaMonica McIver for assaulting/impeding officers there.
Wow, I was totally not aware that any LEO was hospitalized from this incident??? Oh yeah----none were. On 1/6 there were numerous LEO casualties but they were beaten in the name of dear leader thus pardoned. Pathetic.
The charges against Rep. McIver are based almost entirely on an inconclusive video. Rather than intentionally assaulting the ICE agent(s) it's at least as possible that she was pushed into him during the melee and by the way as member of Congress she had every right to inspect the facility. Also keep in mind that McIver hasn't actually been indicted yet (and still may never be indicted). Habba possibly the least qualified person ever to be appointed to the position of US Attorney has yet to present the evidence against McIver before a grand jury.
So the charges have been dropped (by Trump's former lawyer/spokesmodel). I wonder if the people who were all over this thread at the beginning will show back up to admit their many mistakes (I don't actually wonder this).
Judge criticizes DOJ for ‘worrisome’ and ‘embarrassing’ blunders in arrest of New Jersey mayor at ICE facility https://www.politico.com/news/2025/05/21/judge-alina-habba-new-jersey-ras-baraka-arrest-00362946
Wow, who could have predicted this? Would the OP like to amend his thoughts on this matter, now that the DOJ has rapidly dropped the charges and been dressed down for even filing them by a federal judge? Or will he and all those outraged about this on page 1 be avoiding this thread now?
Today a federal grand jury seated in Newark, New Jersey returned a three-count indictment charging U.S. Representative LaMonica McIver with forcibly impeding and interfering with federal law enforcement officers. This indictment has a maximum penalty of 8 years for Count One, an additional maximum penalty of 8 years for Count Two, and a maximum penalty of 1 year in prison for Count Three. As I have stated in the past, it is my Constitutional obligation as the Chief Federal Law Enforcement Officer for New Jersey to ensure that our federal partners are protected when executing their duties. While people are free to express their views for or against particular policies, they must not do so in a manner that endangers law enforcement and the communities those officers serve. Today’s decision by the grand jury is the next step in a process that my Office will pursue to a just end.
