That is not happening. If there is a $7 million number being dangled out there, it’s likely what he would get if he stayed for three years at UF.
Not sure what we are but I read the entire SEC is $45-50 mil. (I thought UK was north of 50 mil?) Cooper Flagg reportedly got $4.8 mil for X years. I can see a school grossly overpaying for Boogie, hope it’s not us. I’m not sure he’s worth the $$ being bantered about. Clayton yes, Boogie no. Is he going to take a team deep into the tourney? I’m not sure.
If it is about the money, Florida will look elsewhere. If Boogie wants to play for a young championship caliber coach and have a chance to be a part of something special, then Florida will gladly welcome him to the "team". If he is looking for the most money, TTU is more than likely the landing spot. We will see what plays out in the coming days, but I think they will give him the same message that they gave Claude, which is commit within 24 hours or we are moving on.
I think we picked a Boogie. I like that it took only a day for him to see enough to confirm the transfer and that it only took a day for him to gain approval from his new teammates.
Former 5-star recruit who was off to a good freshman start before injuring his hand. Since he was projected at NBA draft #42/2nd round, he'll likely be a one and done, but UF gets him for a run to back-to-back for a second time in 19 years. NBA combine measurables compared to Walter Clayton Jr.: Name--------------H/W---------Wing---Standing Reach Walter Clayton Jr. 6-2/199-----6-4-----8'1 1/2" Boogie Fland------6-2/172.4---6-6-----8"2" Could use a little weight to play more physical which is now the Gators MO, but Boogie is a terrific pickup.
