Resorting? I’m not sure there is anything new going on here since they realized the best their “precision” munitions could guarantee was +\- 1000m of a target in February 2022.

 

I don’t dispute the direct hit. I challenge whether the bus was being targeted or not. When it comes to the Russians, I have learned to never attribute to malevolence what can more easily be explained by incompetence. Perhaps it’s my Western bias, but I see no value whatsoever in killing a bunch of civilians who are already trying to leave the battle area. No, not even the idea of “terrifying the populace” can explain it, since history says you just end up galvanizing popular support against you. Therefore, I have to conclude this was yet another mistake brought on by a combination of technical obsolescence, indiscipline, and unprofessionalism.

 

If it was a FPV drone then they absolutely intended to hit the bus. I’ve seen enough drone footage from both sides to know there is zero chance it wasn’t the intended target of an FPV.

Now, whether they plausibly thought it was a bus carrying military personnel I can’t say.

 

Indiscipline and lack of professionalism in the targeting process could just as easily explain the situation. I mean, of course, if you were one of the poor refugees on the bus, then it doesn’t make it a bit of difference whether it was incompetence or malevolence, does it?

 

I’ve been waiting to come out with this. But now is as good a time as any …

It's like everything else related to Trump - an ignoramus leading other ignorant people at a painful, glacial pace into what the rest of us know as "reality".

obviously he was wrong - I know you love to trot out he lied he lied- a lot of stuff gets said during the election season that does not always end up happening - not a lie just ended up being wrong

Looks like Trump's giving up on bringing this war to a close. I really thought he'd settle it on Day 1.

He did settle it. He gave up on Day 1. To him, that settles it. Just decide that it's someone else's problem and say "Who knew that negotiating peace between two countries at war could be so difficult?"
