They never do until there using that product and it breaks. I usually research a product before buying, since I like the best. Now minor things yea I don't care. But if there were two products side by side and I knew one was from China and the other from America, I would buy American every time. But most Americans don't have the luxury due to us being overtaxed

No you wouldnt. You would determine what your end use need is and what value was being offered. You would not care where it was made.

I generally like the idea of things being made here (or at least in 1st world), and I share the lament when an old long standing factory gets shut. Like… even if a company has to mix in some foreign sourcing for the “everyday low pricing” I always thought they should keep a line of “high end” products made in the 1st world. Once you send it to that Chinese assembly line it’s no longer high end, it just becomes part of the replacement goods category. Effectively you just pay for a label at that point. Of course just because something is “made in USA” doesn’t make them high end. I’ve bought some goods that were quite disappointing. Some guy mentioned New Balance running shoes. I’ve had several pairs of those, they are “ok” at best, quite rigid and I view them more as casual shoes. I think those capture the issue of demanding U.S. production perfectly. The U.S. shoes are overpriced as hell, have merely “ok” quality, and have zero design innovation. They are essentially stuck in the 1980’s but they want to charge you $180 for that. If you spend $180 on another brand you are likely getting a much more advanced design.
Keep telling yourself that. I was just visiting some Trumpy relatives. Outside their house was the box from the brand new 50" TV they'd just bought, which was made in Asia (Hisense brand). When we went out to eat, about 75% of the vehicles in the parking lot were foreign made. Trump voters, relative to anyone else, aren't willing to pay any price increase whatsoever to buy American. That's why the reality TV show felon canceled all of his stupid tariffs. (Well, to be honest, he probably also got huge payoffs from certain countries or industries in his cryptocurrency and other places.) Trump voters just want something to be aggrieved about. It's all so unfair to them.
You can't actually tell the quality of a product from country of origin. That is a more emotional thing than any sort of technical knowledge of the product. Cheaper products have led Americans to have far more purchasing power than ever before (real income has increased considerably for decades now). But if you want to spend an entire day figuring out that you want a $200 American-made shoe while turning down cheaper alternatives, you can certainly do that. But most people don't have the time or energy to do that and could find a better use for the over $100 extra that they will be paying for that shoe.
Are you sure about that? Have you seen his tax returns to prove this is the case? What he says and what is actually the truth don't always line up.
