No sweat off my back if he’s broke. Certainly made enough to set himself up nicely for the future if he was smart though.
My coisin married an nfl guy and he has every cent he ever made plus some. Too many just spend their money instead of putting it to work and living off whatever that amount may be.
That 30 for 30 episode on the topic of squandered millions was depressing. Some folks are just not equipped to handle lots of money pouring in all at once and its not just sports. There are a lot of stories of Lotto millionaires ending up badly too.
Some of the lottery stories are just crazy. People who were doing just fine on a middle class income being completely bankrupt a few years after winning millions.
That guy surprised me with his development - he was awful at first but turned into an incredibly effective QB. Unfortunate for him to be injured while following his dream.
Yeah, but he wasn't all that much in his sophomore season, after he was middling at Louisville(?). He was one of those guys whose lightbulb magically turned on. It happens.
So he is receiving triple what he received in college? What does anyone do with 9 Bic Macs per meal??? It definitely is NOT a happy one!
I don’t know what he received in college, but I think it’s pretty safe to assume it was more than a couple big macs. I know he received about 725k from the jets, per the link above.
Lets hope DJ's light turns on. We can all see the elite potential but he has a long way to go. Im hoping for a huge jump game one. Ill damn sure settle for some growing pains and a qb that looks to be a heisman contender going into 26.
Lotto is a tax on stupid. Poor people predominantly play and there are a multitude of reasons why they are poor and those reasons don’t change when they win.
I’ve always figured it’s ok to go in for $1. Your odds of winning are one in a zillion. It makes no sense to spend $20 for odds that are twenty in a zillion - that’s the same as one in a zillion. But if you aren’t in at all, your odds are zero. So occasionally I’m inclined to get in for a buck. You never know
I feel for him. Hopefully he invested his money properly, and he will have a bright career in whatever profession he ultimately chooses.
Seems 4 mil for any top 10 qb is what is discussed almost every time we hear anything. Ima leaver is rumored to have left Tennessee while being paid 2 mil for potential. If DJ were to win the heisman this year, it would be very interesting to see actual contract negotiations and all the offers. We would only hear rumors but id bet there would be bigger offers than most want to believe. Hes a great kid, but money talks and bs walks at some point. Everyone has a price.
