Love our bracket. Beat SC and get Ole Miss. gotta win one to make sure we host, so think we will see Liam for 4-5 innings at most, then any combo of the following to get to Jake-McNellie, CRod, Rowland, McDonald.

Get to the second game and Pierce for 55-65 pitches.

I think our resumes right now says we are a host for regional play but again winning one game would be important to make sure

 

I’m sure that will depend on the team’s schedule for field/facilities after their arrival in Hoover Sunday and what times/fields they have available Monday. But that’s just me.

 

On 4 days to win 1 game for 60-70 pitches to ensure we host? Maybe not but would not shock me. 4 days rest this time of year for your #1 to punch the ticket to host. Given proper rest for all, he would not be my first choice it would be King and then Pierce would be second but Liam is our most rested starter

 

Post game there was conversation about Shelton returning, but I think Sully will air on the side of caution and keep out until regional play. I mentioned that because as you know, Shelton back at shortstop changes a lot. Nadeau close to back also.

 

Tuesday will be a bullpen game and I guess Jackson Barberi gets the start. O'Sullivan NEVER overworks his pitchers and I see no way he starts Peterson Tuesday. Just my opinion, of course, but I would be very surprised if Liam pitches Tuesday.

 

My guess would be Barberi as well but it could be 3 or 4 others, waiting to see. Our path is Tuesday, Wednesday vs Ole Miss, Friday vs Arky, and Sat and Sun. That in mind, I agree Peterson for Wednesday. If we win then I'd go with King on Friday against Arky. Coppola would give us what he can on Saturday. If we made it to Sunday it's all hands on deck.

Two views from this are, getting King on Friday opens the chance for him taking the Friday start in the regional and then Peterson on Game 2. Next, losing early in Hoover gives this team some rest and recovery time. I'm not saying we play reserved in Hoover, but Sully can't afford any more injuries. I certainly hope we do enough to host with all the effort this team has put into the second half of the season, and it might take a few wins in Hoover. But getting a few guys back and letting this team reset will only energize us further.

I think we need 2 just to be safe.

 

I’ll take even 1. Problem is whoever starts has to give us 2-3 good evenings. We go 0 fer and I don’t think we host or at least it changes our chance.

 

I'm wondering if Sully can wrap bandages on our walking wounded! This run is just incredible considering the team is a mash unit!!
